Quick question....2nd Jan there is no sign day? And payment will come next Tuesday as normal?? Called main number to check but closed. Worried not gone through cause i sign different desks, different times so my little file they get out when you sign gets moved all the time.

I signed on on the 18th of dec and got payed as normal on 21st of dec and when I was there he gave me a 4 week job search and says to go back and sign on 15th of jan because it would of been the 1st of jan new years day so should be payed automaticly today but not had a payment today which is strange and I should get payed on the monday but my money normaly goes in on a saturday every time but not today has any1 else had this problem?

This is an issue with your bank, most likely. Some banks clear payments early (which is why you normally receive your money on Saturday rather than Monday) but this process might have been affected by the holidays. If it's not there on Monday, call the JCP office that pays your claim (not your Jobcentre itself) and check that it was released.

Hi sorry for using this thread to post my question but still unsure how to use this site. I have just signed on and only just started receiving job seekers, obviously over christmas this is not ideal, but to put my mind at rest does anyone know payment dates over christmas, im due to be paid on the 16th and the 30th, im praying the 30th payment will be early as i need it for christmas. Can anybody tell me for sure? Or if not is there any jobseekers loan? Many thanks

Not much information out there yet, but if we go by tax credit payment dates (from: https://www.gov.uk/when-is-your-next-tax-credits-payment) if you normally get your JSA payments on the Thursday or Friday, expect it on the Dec. 24th. For payments over the New Year period, they should hit your account on Dec. 31st.

 

I would imagine a sticky will be posted as soon as the payment dates are "officially" announced.

Yes - we'll post a sticky with payment dates as soon as we have the information. If anyone sees something official, feel free to post it and drop me, **Margaret** or Honeybee a PM (or just report the post to the staff with the black "!" triangle button) and we'll get it stickied.

 

In past years, payments due on holidays where the banks will be closed have been advanced to the last working day before the holiday. In some cases, people due to sign on in the week between Xmas and New Year have been excused from this requirement. Payments due on the 16th and 30th will probably be paid on those dates.

This will be useful to know as I have just checked and am due an ESA payment on Christmas Day!

I called ESA this morning - I have a payment due Christmas Day and it is going inon Christmas Eve
