Well with oil prices falling to $90 a barrel and forecasters saying it could drop to $50 as demands fall, you can bet they will be looking at a bigger increase than 3p come January.

Well if you vote for a conservative government this is what you get.

Ill thought out policies, screw the workers, u turn after u turn, disaray and we'll get the masses somehow to fund our life style.

And before anyone starts blaming the labour party, most of the national debt has been bought about by bailing out the banks which were de regulated by Frankenstein Thatcher who went on to destroy UK manufacturing which generates GDP by Jobs.

Errrrr...........might have to move this to Conniffs grumpy old ment thread Martin!!

On the subject of Maggie, she squandered all the revenues from the Gas fields.

Look at the yanks now, totally self sufficient for gas when only a few years ago were importing most of their needs.

Another example of it costing dearly now through lack of investment.

Not to mention coal...The Conservatives saw to it that all the pits closed with millions of tons of the stuff still underground.....we are now importing it from Poland at double the price of what it would cost to mine it from here.

I thought it was good old GB that deregulated the banks or at leat declined to introduce controls as he thought they should be given free rein to do as they please.

Thay are all scheming ***** that dont realy have a clue any more than the rest of us. Just want to be voted in next time but sometimes they make such a mess of things the other lot get in and make it worse.

What this has to do petrol prices I dont know, except they should be going down a lot quicker than it is!!!

Everything is ultimately controlled by Oil and the greenback.

Not for long I fear. Will be oil and the Yuan soon supported by the Ruppee.

Your right about the UK coal fields though. The cow went out of her way there and communities are still paying for it....................or rather the general public are.

Hi

The classic is with the fuel duty that they dont let people know about is that cost you pay for your fuel has already been taxed a few times even before the the fuel duty is added to the price them you have the retailers addon as well.

But where does this TAX actually go i wonder (MP exspenses fund)

Do you think they faked the plan to increase the duty just to lower it and make themselves look better.

The increases were announced at a time when the price of oil was still going up.

I dont think anyone expected to see the falls,in fact a year ago there was forecasts of $150 a barrel.

We know that the price is controlled not only be demand, but also supply and production.Whats going on in the Middle East now will probably see it go up again. And with China Iran and Russia plotting war games together, oil prices wont be sliding for long.
