Thank you for the responses everyone , it is now sorted .Rang Forecourt Eye and they have taken the admin charge off and just charged for the diesel .

I have received a letter from forecourt eye accusing me of ' forgetting ‘ to pay for fuel , I am so furious about it . I went to Shell Southam i put £50 of diesel in my car went inside told the cashier the pump no and presented my card , he gave me a receipt and as I was leaving the shop he called me back , apologised - said he had made a mistake . I gave him the pump no again .The pump I used was directly in front of his window and is the closest pump to him in full view, mine was the only car at that side of the pump at the time . He was an older man and seemed quite confused about something .It took him ages , by which time the queue had got quite long and he was receiving a few remarks from angry customers about being slow . I re presented my card , he handed me a receipt and I left .Now late to get my son to his first job i just put the receipt in the car .I have now just received a Forecourt Eye letter to say I had ‘forgotten’ to pay for fuel and that there is an administration charge on top .They have a photo of me at the pump and a photo of me at the till . I have checked my bank statement and have 2 transactions one for £35.80 going out and another for £31.80 going back in . I do not like being accused of not paying something and being charged an admin fee for something that is completely down to the incompetence of the cashier and i have advised Shell to check all video footage inside to prove that a went to the till twice and presented my card twice and I seem to have been charged a totally unconnected price for fuel . Forecourt eye are threatening to increase the charge if i don’t respond quickly enough , not sure what to do . I am more than happy to pay the fuel bill even though it wasn't my fault but to have to pay an admin charge seems wrong .
