well, i have 2 girls to 2 different fellas(long story, most men are.......well)

last year my current partner and dad to all 3 of my kids lost his job, when he went to claim jsa they said we had to claim for csa from both my girls, i had a letter in feb for the eldest one to say they had sorted an amount out and it would start shortly, i still havent had a single penny, and last week i emailed them about my claim for my younger daughter and was told they had lost the claim and i would have to put in another one, but it wont be backdated as they have no proof that i did it in the first place.

what can i do?? and does any of this make any sense to you, cos it sure as he** doesnt to me, its like they can just go and lose forms as and when they please and the claimant loses out because of their clumbsiness??

i dunno what to do next except put in another claim and wait for news on the eldest one.

cheers rach xx

I did read your post and felt for you, but the CSA is just the worst! I couldn't think of anything to help you , sorry, but I have had problems with them in the past and know how disorganised they are, I had to keep on their backs and virtually point them in the right direction whilst holding their hand.

put in another claim straight away and attach a note saying tht the lost the other claim. send it recorded signed for.

within 5 days check it went to the right department, ask what department that is, they have them all over the place, I'm in Essex, but my claim is handled in Hastings, it took me a while to find this out and once I did it was alot easier. demand things from them, don't accept no for an answer.

visit their website (CSA)

I would send them a SAR asking for copies of your file.

If you do this then they will KNOW that you mean business and will maybe attempt to "Find" the lost forms.

Basically, the CSA like every other government organisation are absolutely crap! The staff are not trained competantly and if you rang about the same thing twice in one day you would get told two different stories!! You really do have to practically do their job for them and really keep on their back.

I can tell you that every single document that they receive from you ie letters, forms etc is logged onto your file on their computer system (as is every letter or form that they send out to you) in date order.

Thankfully, I don't have any dealings with them these days but if I told you all the cock ups they made with me I'd be here for days (and I always proved them wrong). Stick with it!!!

I take it you are getting the full benefits while you wait for these T****** to completely b**** up your life?

getting CTC(child tax credit) and WTC(working tax credit)

anything else we should be entitled to??

sorry but why do "sperm donors" as i call them get away with not paying??

i was in a relationship with both these men(if thats what you can call them) and both left me when they found out i was expecting(nice!)and until i met my now partner brought them up alone, my partner now is my girls dad in the sense "anyone can be a father but it takes a real man to be a dad" we have a son together too and he loves "our" girls as much as he loves our son. but i also now believe they should be made to pay, they have got away with 8 and 5 years worth and now the place that is meant to be on my side seems to not give a s***, its so unfair.

Believe me, it really isn't worth it, been there, done that and they almost destroyed our marriage, take Pugsleys advice, it's probably the best you'll get, if you've done without them this long......

I know you used to be able to have the get out clause that the former partner was violent and you do not want contact this would have been asked on one of their forms.

Hmmm... CSA!!!

I'm an "absent" father, and before you criticise me, not by choice!

I have had twelve years of absolute hell from the CSA, I won't bore you with the whole story but briefly they said I owed £20,000+ in unpaid maintenance (two years worth!!!), I didn't even earn that much in a year!!!

Anyway, I eventually paid them £1400 after four court appearences, a firm of bailiffs being involved and a charging order against my house that I can't get them to remove even now!!!!!!! Barstewards that wouldn't know how to run a government department if it bit them on the bum!!!!

They are total know-nothing prats, all of them. They really have no clue.

Anyway, rant over.

The purpose of my post is to say to you send them a request under the Freedom of Information Act and ask them for every last little post it note that they have about you because it WILL be logged somewhere. I had to do this before one of the court cases because they swore blind I hadn't given them a shedload of information. Well my file arrived and it was 8 inches thick! No joke, it was sent by DHL! It contained all of the information that they swore I'd never given them. I met their representative at the Crown Court 1/2 hour before the hearing when they were going to demand that I sell my house to repay the £20,000. Guess what, I showed her the "missing" information!!! :D She had to go before the judge and admit they'd made an error, apologise for wasting the courts time and generally grovel :D:D:D . God she turned bright red!!

Anyway, send off your Freedom of Information Act request letter and DEMAND everything they have on you. See how you get on.

A Freedom of Information request will not get you a copy of your personal file.

This will only happen if you request it under S(7) of the Data Protection Act 1998

Why not? I did.

you could probably ask the CSA for information under the health & safety at work regulations and they'd believe you were right and send it to you because they really haven't got a clue!!!

The Freedom of Information Act Act specifically excludes personal data.

If you got the data that you requested, the the data controller at the CSA has breached the Data Protection Act and should be reported for it. The information commissioner has grounds for prosecution.

Oh, OK.

I received (so far as I could see) my entire CSA file, everything, copies of letters written by me and to me, internal memos, my income assessments - everything.

hi guys just been reading all your threads on here, the csa are making my life a living hell i owed 10,000 in arears to my ex wife who ended up with the house we lived in,basically every thing, when the csa made an assesment in 1999 i disagreed with them that the assesment was wrong due to my job chaning and so on ,and in fact was earning less than what they had assesed me for ,i constantly told them ,that the assesment was wrong, all theysaid that i didnt inform them in time about my change of circumstances,bull.... i had 2 face to face interviews with the csa staff where i live and was told the information would be sent and altered accordingly, still 6 yrs on they changed nothing but kept giving me greif about the arrears, they eventually got a court liability order against me and put the debt in to the hands of philips bailifs who are now makiing my life a misery, contantly pestering for money ,iam not in work now and iam on long term sick due to an industrial desease at work, and am still paying now,i didnt intend not to pay for my kids, but wanted a fair adjustment to enable me to support my new partner and child,,as some said here the csa have driven some men to commit suicide, they got me that way to at one point,i admit, but the sooner this system is closed down the better,it has failed from day 1,and there is a better system in place.
