  1. Happy New Year all, I'd be ballparking as some of the items are things you just can't buy anymore, such as my dads fruit machine and the 70's Schreiber units they left. I'd say between 3.5-4k
  2. Did not post last night as was such a busy day. One of the reps from OPG messaged back and said we could go to the house to pick up some things, but warned us "there wasn't much there" Headed over, and the place was gutted. Smashed glass everywhere from the stuff they'd just ripped out. All of the furniture gone (skip was already gone by the time we arrived). The only things left on the inventory that were still there were the washing machine and my dads vintage fruit machine. They'd stacked up some boxes of stuff they obviously wanted to keep when they went back, such as my dads tools and work bench. Those went straight into my car! Ended up doing 2 trips last night to salvage whatever we could. But only those 2 items from that entire inventory are still there. So she's pretty much lost everything. Can't really blame OPG as they assumed because it was left we wanted it disposed of (this is part of their service). We did try messaging them to explain what happened, but as this was over Christmas, we didn't actually manage to get hold of anyone until yesterday morning. This has really made me more determined to fight Anyvan on this
  3. Yes, you are right, they are a broker who sub contract. Wish I would have known this in hindsight. Payment was made to "ANYVAN.COM" Not sure who the guys were (My mum and brother were there at the time. I was helping get her bungalow ready for the furniture to come in). My brother said they turned up in a transit (not fit for the agreed inventory) that was unbranded and were passing the phone between my mother and the Anyvan office who were saying "Pay X amount and we will get a bigger van to do the job"
  4. Yes I will be getting a photo, he was just passing by the place at the time so didn't stop. He will go back after work. The text basically explains that we are sorry all of the furniture we promised would be removed has been left but we were let down at the last moment, and if they would allow us back onto the property to arrange a pickup. Voicemail basically said the same thing. Edit - text was sent first thing this morning, and we tried to call after lunch. They could well be off for Christmas?
  5. We were trying to get it in writing. They called out of the blue. There is no email address on the Anyvan contact us page. i just filled out the webform and they called back just now In regards to our stuff, we have tried to called OPG and my mother has called the agent she was dealing with, but no response as of yet. My friend did a walk by and said there is a skip in the garden with some things outside. Not sure exactly what there is yet, but he said not much. Will find out more later.
  6. Sorry 1) If we read the terms and conditions, no refunds would be given 2) They said the wardrobes were double just because they have 2 doors (they are less than 3 feet wide). And would have to be dismantled (they literally lift and clip together, takes 20 seconds) 3) A box (that was on the list for them to take with all the kitchen stuff) was in the way of the washing machine, so they couldn't take the washing machine. 4) They refused to acknowledge that the job was based on photos as well as listing the items. He kept referring to his list and refusing to acknowledge that someone had to look at our photos and price the job up. 4) None of this would have mattered though if we had paid more, they would have did all of this but as it is, no refunds will be given. Edit - oh and the cheeky sod asked us if we wanted to reschedule!
  7. Thank you for the reply. We will contact them when they are there in the morning., For tonight, I will worry about getting an email across to the Anyvan customer services in order to satisfy the bank. I know the CS team will just ignore or outright refuse any kind of refund, but at least the bank will see we've tried.
  8. Yes, I do still have my key, however, we had to vacate the property by the 26th. As OPG now officially own it, I would probably be breaking and entering if I was to just walk in. It's a good 4 hour round trip by car, but i could maybe get a friend to check it?
  9. Thank you, My mum called the bank (Barclays) and explained. The lady on the other end said we need to write an email to their customer service and demand our money back, If no reply, or not a satisfactory response within 14 days, they will then start the chargeback process. Mum explained we have called them a few times and just been fobbed off, but she insisted this needs to be in writing. I guess now I draft up a strongly worded email. The Open Property group (who purchased my mums place) offices closed by the time we were done with the bank. I will try those guys again tomorrow during office hours.
  10. they accepted the job based on photos of the items to take and took a pre payment Then when they turned up the wanted more money and then when we couldn't afford it at that exact moment, left without taking anything. Wouldn't even give a refund. They broke their contract The new owners are a group that buy houses and refurb and sell. yes, they took £1080 for the job and didn't do anything other than turn up in a small van and ask for more money to take the stuff that was agreed with photo's on their contract.
  11. Hi, Sorry, it's still a bit raw. Lost as in we could not get the items out in time before we had to pass the keys over. We had to leave them in the house. We didn't have the extra money to pay them and no way to get that late in he afternoon on 23rd December. They just left without taking anything. Anyvan seem to be national.
