Hi

i had a payday loan with mem paydayuk which i defaulted on, i was in a payment arrangement of £30 a month with keyes whitlock which i kept to. Mem decided to sell it to MH without notifying me. The first i heard was an email from MH and then a letter today threatening "despite repated efforts to contact" they havent recieved a response and threatening meritforce doorstep visitors. Anyway im not worried about their crap and as i said first letter from them but what do i need to do now? Should mem have sent me a deed of assignment or should MH have done this. And what would you advise i do?

Thanks for quick reply will send that off even though i do know what the debt is. But i should play dumb right?

For them to be entitled to collect anything they have to prove a debt exists and they have the right to collect, after all any Tom, Dick or Kilmarnock cowboy could write and demand money.

in the meantime because the OC has not formally informed you that the debt has been passed to some other cretin to collect carry on with your arrangement

Report Mackenzie Hall to Alan Stewart at East Ayrshire Trading Standards, he is looking into the antics of MH and their offshoot Meritforce.

 

The doorstep visitors have less legal powers than a pizza delivery person and should be told to go forth if they do appear.

Mackenzie Hall never have paperwork. Without it they are stuffed. Unless they can prove what they claim tell them to go away. If they don't report them. Its the only way this lot will understand that paperwork = legality= results
