Wtf Is Going On, Has Anyone Else Had The Same?? Also how the hell am i getting calls from them if there offices have been cleared out??

That's strange bout phone calls in fact the whole set up's strange is the list you posted new companies or

companies that are in liquidation?

I don't mean your list is strange lol i mean I've checked companies house and Advent have numerous company names and when they started these co.'s

Liquidation i believe mate cos the date matches, the one that advent claim barclays ceased funding... and yes it is bloody strange about phone call, as 1: the offices are supposed to havebeen cleared out & 2: Advent where never available for contact after 5pm before.. I was just wondering if this was the date Advent and co knew they were in the crap so to speak. I spoke to an advent trainer on sunday who said the Advent Directors knew this was going to happen and to make it easy for themselves to pull the plug, take the money and run and then shed the entire blame on barclays. How can a company solely rely on a bank for their survival? Any other company would have contingencies and cash reserves for emergencies etc. this gets dodgier by the day!

LMFAO, funny u should say that cos Paul Keene promised me that as a starting wage after i finished my course, thats why i agreed to do it in the first place, then a year after startin the course a Lorraine Leddington told me that i must of miss heard wot he had said, idiot lol.. she also told me the day before they closed that i needed to hurry to do my exams as they were changing the exams in July this year, Cheek, when i had been pushing them for me to do them for 8mths...

Another one in same situation here. Just had liitle "battle" over the phone with BPF to put my account on hold. I hit the wall at start and after 5 mins arguing asked to switch me to supervisor. Than 20 secs and im done, account on hold, confirmation letter on way to me. So yes, you need to be pushy... Good luck with that.

My husband has a loan with Barclays which we are due to start paying back next week, got another loan to pay Barclays all in one go to avoid the high interest rates, thank god I didnt pay it all off yesterday as I only found out about all this at 7am today!

 

Anyway, I rung Barclays on behalf of my hubby as he's in work, obv they couldnt do anything to the account cos he'd have to ring himself to put it on hold. But I did ask what was going to happen and he told me that....

 

if Barclays find another training provider then you are still liable to pay the finance off whether or not you do the course with the new provider OR if they don't find another training provider then they will cancel it.

 

I did ask things like if the course centre was too far away etc and he said he couldnt answer questions like that cos a new provider hasnt been found but they would look at individual cases.

 

Anyone getting anywhere with there situations? Are Barclays right to say that to me? They said the finance is with a 'Training Provider' not Advent?!

 

This is a nightmare!!

The standard answer from Barclays Partner Finance is that you have to continue paying the agreement in the meantime.

 

A number of posters however have reported that if you get 'pushy' about it and insist on speaking to a supervisor, they will agree to freeze the account until such time as they source another provider.

 

As your account is about to 'roll over', your hubby needs to get on the phone today, insist that they freeze it and make sure they confirm it in writing.
