If what she has taken belonged to you then she has broken the law. Call the police and report the theft.

If they give you the run around stating that they can't get involved as they class it as a domestic, then seek immediate advice from a solicitor.

I am sure you will get more advice on this before to long.

Thank you for taking the time to consider my troubles.

Unfortunately the local constabulary suggested I write my wife a letter to request my belongs back but she has ignored this. They also said I should seek advice from a lawyer.

I don't want to rock the boat but I'm damned if I am going to be treated like a doormat.

Unfortunately, the boys in blue will say its a civil matter; not much you can do; take your stuff back if you can! change locks! take all the money out of joint account before she does. cancel credit cards if she is on them.

Start divorce proceedings, with a good solicitor could have a decree nisi in about 3 weeks.

Good Luck.

Maybe not so quickly but yes good idea.

No need for a solicitor-she can hardly be expected to push for a settlement since it appears theres not much left to claim.

I did my divorce myself it took 8 weeks and cost me around 400 quid.

My case was different-I kept my socks and there was no gold discs;)

My wife has left me and taken all my chattels too.

To compound my misery, on a night out, I bumped into my wife and her new beau and he was wearing my suit, shoes and tie.

What can I do?:(

Hi

Can you tell us a bit more about the situation please?

Do you own your own home?

Do you have debts in yours or her name?

Do you intend to file for a divorce?

Have you spoken to anyone about how you are feeling at this moment in time?

We can try to give you some good advice when we know more, and i won't take the Mick out of your username.
