I've just received a default notice from Link Financial (MBNA) saying the debt should be paid in full by 10/10/08, I had been making nominal paymants and never missed a one. Is it too late to CCA them and go down that route? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Just had a call from Link, after the usual preliminaries i.e. I won't go through security - we need to discuss a payment plan, contact me in writing only - we are a telephone based company, etc etc.

"I'll put you on hold so I can see what we can do if that's ok", go ahead I say, the music comes on, "yesterday all my troubles seemed so far away".

:D

Link are one huge joke anyway.

We are a telephone based company, then they bombard you with their threat-o-gram letters threatening all kinds of rubbish.

I like to put DCA's on hold, just to see how long they're prepared to wait.

Songs I like to play to them include.....

Blondie - Hanging on the Telephone

Kevin Wilson - Dilligaf

K C and the Sunshine Band - Give it up

Simply Red - Money's too Tight to Mention

If I'm feeling really evil they get Mr Blobby :D

RyanAir once put me on hold to the Top Gun soundtrack, 'dangerzone'....

If you've flown with them to Ireland, that song is quite apt. :D

The pilot slammed the plane quite hard into the runway. I think he was having a bad day because he didn't sound too happy on the intercom when we took off.

Can you take out an injunction against a bank to stop them phoning you? If you can, how do you go about it?

How much does it cost?

Are there any fee exemptions available?

Thanks

Actually, this is a very interesting question. You may see from my threads on here that I successfully wrote off all my debts. But when I asked banks for SRA printouts and paid them their fees to do so, they would often use these abbreviations on their printouts and reports.

What this amounted to was that the information was sometimes not understandable and designed to confuse as much as possible ie. to slow down and to frustrate you as much as possible. You are suffering from exactly that.

So the question is, when you SAR them, and they pay this game, are they entitled to do so in law, or, in the other hand, is it possible to demand, again in law, an explanation of their abbreviations.

So my question is, how much, if any, of this misleading language are they showed to use?
