  1. Hello, I had a CCJ 6 years ago - I settled it in full within 2 months. However all 3 agencies are still showing it on my file & it should have dropped off this month (it is from Aug 06) I contacted checkmyfile about this & they said it would be removed after 1st Sept Equifax are still showing the CCJ as active even though it was paid in full Checkmyfile have told me that equifax will therefore not remove the CCj from my file even though it is over 6 years old Does this mean I need to go through the process of getting a certificate of satisfaction etc. to get this CCJ removed from my file? All I have is a receipt from the creditor (from the time of payment) showing the payment. I don't have a letter of satisfaction from them. One cofusing factor is that although I paid it in Sept 2006, the other 2 credit agencies show it as being satisfied in Nov 2008?! Does anyone have any advice?! Thanks in advance.

  3. Morning Guys, Been looking through the forums recently and have been working on claiming back money from Barclay Card. My mother has had a Barclays Credit Card for some time now and unfortunatly got behind with the payments. Barclaycard contacted Mum and arranged a Payment plan, and they asked how come Mum had fallen behind. Mum explained that both herself and Dad had been ill, Mum had an Eye operation and Dad had a knee replacement. The lady on the phone asked Mum "Why didnt you use the PPI you have on your account?" Mum wasnt aware of the fact that she had PPI since taking out the card a good few years ago. We wrote to Barclaycard and sent off the PPI Claimback form. We received the standard response that they will get back to us by the 17th July. Yesterday (20th July) we still hadnt had a response so we called them. The rude and obnoxius clown on the phone pretty much called us liars and said that they had sent a reply on the 11th July. He also said that the case was investigated and there wasnt going to be an offer as they did not think we had a case. I stated that I wated this in writing and he said he will send it out immediatly. Just not sure where to go from here. Would someone please advise as we really think we do have a case here. Many Thanks, Ron
  4. Can I ask a quick question? I took out a loan in 2003 and for one reason or another I stopped paying sometime in 2004. The last time my credit file was updated by the lender was July 2006. No-one has ever chased me for any money and I have had no contact with the lender since 2004 yet my credit file says the loan is still active with red 6's everywhere. Simply put how do I get this removed from my credit file? Bobbyh
  5. Wizz air introduces new cabin bag charges. If anyone is confused about why some airline companies have reduced card surcharges following the OFT investigation, then even more confusing is how some are seemingly already taking measures to recoup any shortfalls by introducing new baggage charges. Now traditionally the major airlines have included hand baggage within the base ticket. Up until 9th July Wizz Air did so too...and 10kg at that. Today they announced their so called "New Cabin bag policy" So for those who are wondering,Wizz are now defining between a small cabin bag and a large cabin bag. A small cabin bag is what they deem as 42x32x25cm or smaller. The weight allowance of 10kg remains the same. This size bag will be free from further baggage charges from 9th July. Any bag that exceeds this size, will now cost 10 euro. But it still must be the same size as the prev limits for fitting into the overhead bins. Wizz say they are introducing this new baggage policy as a trial to "Incentivise passengers to bring smaller baggage aboard the aircraft " This seems odd since there are very few passengers who board flights with only a laptop bag. Wizz claim this trial on selected routes will improve on time performance and result in better travel experience... although they are not so quick at how they have arrived at this amazing feat of ingenuity. They add; With fewer large items onboard, the cabin will be less crowded and the boarding process will be easier and faster for the benefit of all our passengers. Now assuming that the smaller baggage will all be under the seats (which they tell) that means LESS space around the seating. No I am afraid I am not convinced at all. Even if they were to scrap the £14 per return card surcharges...they will still be 6 euro in pocket. Nice try. They have not updated their website either with this as of 16.49 on 9th.July. The notification has gone out by emails. http://wizzair.com/en-GB/useful_information/baggage
  6. I was offered my PPI refund of £371 in August 2011. However, after a million phone calls, involving the FOS - who told me they too are in a queue waiting for a response from Lloyds - a letter from me complaining about the dissatisifaction at the way they have handled the pay out, I am still left with no refund 10 months later. This is not a large amount is it????? I even got a really nice woman from my local Loyds TSB branch to try and help me - she too hit a brick wall. They lied to her and said they sent me a cheque out last October. I asked how they could even begin to say this when it is clear from the amount of contact I have had with them that this is not the case. Thoroughly frustrated and now angry - any thoughts on what I can do??? Grateful thanks in advance:-D
  7. Hi, after checking my credit file, I have discovered an old loan that was taken out with lowell, in 2001 can I still claim? Also can someone send me a link with regards to claiming mortgage ppi Thank you
  8. I have a question that maybe someone could help me with. My father died just over 4 years ago and he left a will but I never got sight of it. My brother is the executor of the will and when I asked him what the will contained he told me not to worry about it. My mother is still alive and her will, will mirror my fathers. I rang up the Solictors who hold my fathers will and asked them if I could obtain a copy of his will and was told that he wrote a letter to the effect that I was not to see it and only my mother and my brother were to have sight of it. I was hurt by this and still am. I understand through other members of the family that I was cut out of the will and everything will go to my brother on my mothers death. I am not out to cause trouble for my elderly mother or brother but for the life of me I don't understand why and would like to obtain a copy of my fathers will just to reassure myself I suppose. Can anyone help me?

  10. My car was stolen from outside my house last night - I still have the original 2 sets of keys, so no idea how it was stolen. Today I've spoken to the insurance company and am due to speak to them again tomorrow. I've been looking through my paperwork and realise I didn't declare a speeding ticket from 2 years ago - will the insurance company still cover my loss or is my car insurance invalid? Many thanks for any help
  11. Hi After reading various articles on this site (thanks everybody), i sent a cca request to debt recovery company they didn't send a cca agreement and after a couple of phone calls of them i explained i very politely i wouldn't talk to them via the phone until they provided it. This was approx 3 months ago and up until the last week i didn't hear anything off them. This last week ive had 2 letters the latest threatening me with Data being passed to our internal investigation department Your account will be approved by way of judgement/decree securred in a local court The debt will be transferred to a Debt Collection Agent who may call at your home Then inviting me to contact them. Few questions really, is this just a scare tactic? What do i do next? It was my understanding (limited) after reading various posts that without the cca theres not a lot this company can do Thanks for any help
