Hi all, I am probably flogging a dead horse here but..... We have recently changed from Sky to BT as we are moving house and I wanted to keep my phone number (Sky cannot do that but BT can ) So we had BT activated just yesterday at our current address. This had to be done so BT had our line when we move - next Wednesday. They are now saying they cannot activate a home move for our line until the day we move then it could take up to 10 days for the line in the new house to be activated. I have been passed from pillar to post today trying to get them to sort the mess out and am no further forward... Is there any way I

broadband speed issue caused by the route provided to my telephone line by British Telecom. I get a broadband speed of 1.4 meg download, my neighbours in the same area get speed of 2.4 to 3.0 meg download. After complaints to BT they decline to do anything to provide me with the same service as my neighbours, My neighbours are 3 km from the exchange, My line is 6 km from the exchange, where does my line go between next door and here ? I pay for a service of up to 20 meg speed. BT provide me with a sub standard service. Is there anything I can do ?

I wonder if anyone has had the same experience as me. I cancelled my British Telecom account over 12 months ago but they messed up and forgot to switch off my line and then tried to charge me for the time it was still connected. I disputed this but BT ignored me and passed the debt of £90.00 to a DCA. The DCA sent me a letter demanding £116 with no explanation as to the extra on the bill. They wrote to me about 3 times and I ignored them because I am prepared to fight this in court as I have proof of when I cancelled and the fact that BT messed up. Since then BT have actually cleared and closed my account and my balance is now z

Where can I get a free or cheap credit report
andrew1 replied to pammiec's topic in Credit Reference Agencies
y call from my bank over a number of transactions that same day, this time British telecom where I paid a bill over the phone and 3 land registry searches I did. each one took 10p from the account as a security check without my permission. According to the bank this is normal. I question this so called 'normality' to dip into my account. I was asked by my bank to identify 5 transactions, they suspended my debit card whilst this went on or until I had confirmed these transactions. 4 of them I knew one was for 10p which I didn't know about. It was showing as a 'transaction'. I'm going off on another persons thread digressing somewhat -

Im guessing this is relating to the dreaded provider British Telecom, Im having the same issue with them there engineers wouldnt install it where i wanted so when i left they left me without a working wireless hub so i tried to contact them again and again and told them i want it relocating like i asked in the first place oh sorry you will need to pay £130.00 for that so i refused, refused to pay for it and said i wanted it cancelling but they decided to use my cooling off period before the services was installed. So time has passed ive sent Ian Livingston at BT a really nasty abusive email had a few unkind works to him in there. B

Hi guys BT are trying to chase me for £461 i have never been one for debt but when i don't get a service i for one will not pay for it. Back in October 2011 i had BT installed and originally had a BT line in this house the reason for this was we was going to move to a private rent and they didnt have cable services in that area when i had Virgin at the time so i cancelled Virgin and went to BT. One day in October BT arrived to install my services i asked the engineer if he could install it upstairs as my PC was in the back room, He refused as there was already a phone socket behind our TV in the living room so when he left i could

ved into a new house together. From the time they moved in they were with British Telecom. In July 2007 my mum's partner died. In December last year my mum died, leaving my grandmother alone at the house. In January I was going through my mum's paperwork and I discovered a "Final" bill from British Telecom dated June 2011. Puzzled doesn't describe it. The phone service was still working perfectly well. There was no other paperwork in the house at all and she was very meticulous about that sort of thing. No e-mails either. I went through bank statements and discovered something flagged as "Telecom", charging between £24 and £28

if after reading through the terms and conditions of your contract with British Telecom (BT), you can provide reasonable argument that BT are failing to perform or comply with those terms and conditions, you could look to hold BT in breach of contract and pursue them for an amount of damages that would directly reflect any losses you have incurred as a consequence i.e. a partial refund of any amounts already paid. In addition, you could pursue BT for 'loss of bargain' if they refuse to provide the service at the agreed price. When seeking 'loss of bargain' you would be looking to recover any extra charges you might

Hi,had a contract with bt,moved house last august,so an estimated 8 months into contract. They passed the debt onto ccs..which added rougly 238 in there own charge on top of the debt, there was a remaining balance of debt of 348,which i owed, fair enough, then they added equipment charges, final charges for moving house! which added up to 914! then ccs added a charge, ccs first refused my offer of £20 a month, since then it has changed because i sent them a fairly brunt email stating they were in breach of oft guidelines in many ways and thats what they were getting when i dont even agree with the bill in the first place! my question anyway to

ld never trust a company with the word "British" in the name. British Gas, British Telecom and so on. I completely agree, I have yet to find one that isn't conning and ripping customers off.

Talk Talk - Help required

led in our telephone exchange is far superior to the aging legacy kit that British Telecom uses to provide IPStream products from the same exchange. Yet, TalkTalk lets itself down in such silly ways. We've made numerous simple requests from TalkTalk, such as the removal of the 1571 Answering Service from the line, or the lifting of a "WITHHELD" CLID from the line, or online access to our account, and yet all of those trivial requests have either been overlooked altogether, never actioned, or some arbitrary bureaucratic reason has prevented their fulfilment. TalkTalk needs the services of a sharp-shooter to sort this out. Far -

Dianabrst v David Lloyd Gym, ARC and Trevor Munn
Dianabrst replied to Dianabrst's topic in Gyms and Health Clubs
hen say "it is up to you to ask for tje saùe deam". The reason why I left British Telecom as I do not want to have to call and write every year just to make sure I stayed on the same conditions and terms as before. But I was very happy with BT so it is very silly and I cannot understand why loyal customers are in fact penalised. Regarding David Lloyd, if they had even made an effort to repair the misrepresentation made to me when I became a member and was told I could use other clubs at no extra charge, if they had made some effort to allow me to suspend my membership with a doctor's certificate for a month from September 5th to October 5 -
hange their spots, though they like to change their name. I will never use British Telecom or any company that requires a line of theirs, British Gas, Scottish Gas (same outfit), Eon or from now on, EDF. Whe I tried to pay them by phone, they were very busy and I could wait. No mention of how many in the queue or an estimate of how long I'd have to wait. My time could be of no importance or value to me, and it certainly wasn't to them. But that's just one example of their shameless arrogance. There are a few others. It's as if they can't think up enough ways to waste youu time and make a fool of you.

ngs, Sheldon Old Road, Stoke On Trent who are acting on behalf of British telecom I have a bill with British Telecom (BT) which I placed in query with the Debt Collection Agency Advantis back in March by requesting a full statement, the terms and conditions of the service and the original letter of assignment which has never arrived. I am not disputing the debt just the DCA authority to process my data, but that is not the only problem After I received thier letter informing me that I wias not going to get any of the items I requested I wrote to Advantis informing them that I was putting the account into q
