  1. Theyre going to progress as far as they can, no matter what you do. Theyre calling your bluff
  2. Indeed. It should take a few mins to an hour most to do even the largest of forums.
  3. Also click https://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/feed/?action_type=NewTopic That should list all new topics and get rid of the locked posts feed.
  4. Click unread items, then on the top options click items i follow. That filters the feed to only show threads you have posted in or have subscribed to. It doesnt show new threads, but its a start.
  5. The closed threads you can filter, but right now there isnt an option to show new threads without showing them. You can show threads you are following without showing the closed ones tho. Im surprised the script thats closing old threads is taking its time and doesnt auto remove them from the feed. Most scripts parse the database for the date, and then enter an entry to it, then simply auto post a reply to it. Unless of course its a slower database/host and theres thousands of threads to close. Then it gets backed up /shrug
  6. Yes you can. Otherwise theyd be in a LOT of trouble with the regulators.
  7. Youre worrying over nothing. This is all easily sorted if done the right way.
  8. They still have to supply everything with it. They cant just make some rubbish up and say thats it.
  9. pre 2007 they need the original one with all terms/conditions and any changes afterwards. A recon wont do.
  10. all sites are bound to have teething issues, especially when you upgrade from one platform to another. You cant make all changes on a test forum and transfer over, as the backends could be different, plus people are still making and replying to posts all the time. Believe me, been there and done it, many a time. On multi million pound websites. it may seen straightforward to the layman, but sadly web development is never that straightforward. For this site, its even more compounded as the old webmaster is sadly no longer with us, so any code he made has to be translated and interpreted by the new one, and if its not optimized code it can be very difficult to work through as the slightest change could impact something totally irrelevant.
  11. why on earth would you think that? The absolute worst that can ever happen is you show your I&E to the court and they will sort out payments made to your circumstances. But that is likely to not happen. Cabots and restons only chase lemon debts not enforceable ones. Thats why you gotta do your homework and find out whats wrong with it. They dont like doing any work for their money, so they go after people that buckle or they think they can get default judgements against.
  12. nothing to be scared of. You dont go up against a judge in a dock or anything. Theres just you court rep/judge and claimants rep that sits at a table and discusses it. 9/10 the claimant doesnt even bother to turn up, or if they do, they beg to settle out of court before the hearing starts. Thats why a good defence always works, you catch them on the back foot as theyre desperate not to be found out.
  13. Until you get notice from the court, continue with court procedure as normal. give it a day or so and give the court a ring like FTM Dave said. If they say its discontinued, youre free!
  14. password CD is normal unless you ask for it to be on paper. Most default to paper, but to save ink/paper/environment etc they go on cd
  15. Most councils have a portal on their website that allows you to check planning permission. Try there.
  16. Very doubtful theyll pay it. They prob wont even bother responding, and already moved on to the next poor sap
  17. permit wont allow you to break the local bylaws of blocking an area with a dropped kerb. It just gives you permission to park.
  18. Norton is one of the absolute worst Antivirus packages on the market. Thats why manufacturers ship it free with new systems, or try and sell it to OAP's or those with no experience of AV's. Malwarebytes and AVG free are substantially better than those as an entry level software
  19. Dont worry about kaspersky, it regularly flags up random sites as dangerous. it also has a bad rep in the AV world. Their Heuristic system ( basically an AI system) is pretty rubbish.
  20. Standard rubbish from them, trying to say they dont have a legal responsibility to get the info, when they do.
  21. Ignore them for now. The parking authorities own code of conduct states there is a MINIMUM of 10 minutes grace after the time has expired. They cant change that.
  22. still way too much waffle tbh. Read other similar threads and use a defence from there. The NTK wasnt sent or received in time, so that kills their claim dead in the water.
  23. Well, youve chosen a good platform, and its pretty simple to use. Once youve gotten to grips with it. Vbull is more intuitive, but they have a habit of changing things without notice in each version, or discontinuing things.
  24. I trained in Software engineering for my last job, working for one of the top 4 major supermarkets, working on the new online ordering system and customer delivery backend. Themes are usually the easy part of a site, as its pretty much simple java and CSS, unless you want fancy google java scripts to increase functionality.
