It's a tough one for the civil servants in charge of this, and the port workers. I'll be interested to see what happens.

That's my concern as well, BN. I think the PM has made it fairly clear he doesn't care about NI and Cummings when in post said something unrepeatable about the region.

Johnson daren't trigger a trade war with the EU over NI until thats the only thing he has left in an attempt to hang on to power, and using it would almost certainly end him anyway.

 

So he's happy to let the DUP run spoilers  ... however ineffective.

DUP probably not going to be in any way significant shortly, and then NI may well end up ahead of Scotland in the UKexit stakes.

 

None of the current UK cabinet are fit to hold office, let alone run a country IMO

The head of the policy unit and the comms chief at no10 have both resigned, so has the first minister of NI and Johnson and Patel have been told off by the head of the ONS [again] for getting figures wrong, this time on crime.

 

What next?

A little thought:

* How many disadvantaged and innocent kids did Monster Saville abuse?

* How many disadvantaged and innocent kids have the Tories forced into food poverty through choice when they could have easily and quite cheaply prevented it?

Not that even one of either is in any way acceptable or forgivable in anything claiming to be a decent society

You mean a handful of civil servants given fixed penalty notices maybe, none of which detail will be released due to 'privacy of the people involved' which will completely gut any meaning out of the report?

 

and thats if a lack of evidence, including from the met officers securing those parties simply means -passed to CPS and insufficient evidence, with the met excusing it as 'everybody knows we are corrupt when investigating ourselves or criminals/politicians with power/money so jog on or we'll investigate you

Well, the Tories hung on to Southend West, in a very low turnout, being as Lab, Lib and Greens showed respect for the prior real Tory by not competing

 

but the results are worth a glance

With no Lab, Lib or Green candidates and a very low turnout which normally favors the radicals and nuts

 

- Anna Firth (Conservative party) 12,792 (86.10%)

- Jason Pilley (Psychedelic Movement) 512 (3.45%)

 

- Steve Laws (Ukip) 400 (2.69%)  <-

- Catherine Blaiklock (English Democrats) 320 (2.15%)

 

 

UKIP and 'English Democrats' (a misnomer if there ever was one) were both  quite significantly beaten by the 'Psychdelic Movement' party
