We moved a while ago,

about 10 days ago my wife Mrs x finally got in to a branch of Halifax to change address, job done.

Mrs x then applied for 2 credit cards (1 from Halifax and 1 from BOS) and an overdraft for her current account, all were accepted, she was delighted.

1 of the credit cards arrived today and it says Mr x on it, her correct female first name but have put Mr and not Mrs.

I thought this was odd so checker her online banking and her current account now also says Mr x

She went in to change address, which they done, but also changed her from a Mrs to a Mr

Will this affect the 2 credit cards or the overdraft, will all be removed.

I assume we need to go back in to branch now to ask why a change of address resulted in her gender being changed.

Very annoying.

No its a simple admin mistake... What matters is the name being reported on your CRAs. Just go into branch and explain it :)

Simple Clerical error.

I hope so, our nearest branch is not just round the corner so this is a complete inconvenient faff through no fault of our own.

p.s I don't know what name they will put on the credit report for the credit cards as they wouldn't have been reported yet,

what would happen if they put Halifax credit card under Mr x on a Mrs credit report.

Its unlikely we can get back to the bank for a week or so to resolve.

It was your wife that attended the Branch...they could see she was Mrs...any searches would have been under Mrs......simply ring them up and ask for it to be corrected and issue new cards.

Regards

Yes it was, we have phoned, they won't change it on the phone, The CC and overdraft were applied for after the address change, although on the applications she put Mrs the card still turned up saying Mr.

It's possible that the branch could've accidentally changed this. Though this seems unlikely as it's not possible for them to change your title at the same time as changing your address (2 completely different systems are used to do each).

When applying for the CCs and OD she may have had to input her details. Perhaps for one of the the applications it defaulted to Mr and she forgot to change it. Perhaps she scrolled the mouse and accidentally changed the title from Mrs to Mr.

Either way, easily fixed in branch. The title on the credit search won't have any consequence or impact. No monthly reporting will have occurred yet, so once the title is amended this will report exactly as expected.
