If somebody can give me some advice I'd be really grateful.

Took out a subscription with Deagostini.

After over two years I decided to cancel the subscription and contacted them by phone.

Money continued to be taken from my account, so I called twice more.

I then cancelled my DD as I thought this would stop the magazines arriving.

Another parcel arrived which I did not open - simply returned to sender.

I found an email address for Deagostini and again told them I had cancelled my subscription & stopped DD. I got an invoice from them for £12.56. On the advice of a friend I ignored this letter.

Now have received a letter from CCS Debt Collection informing me unless I pay £68 within three days I will be taken to court.

From what I've researched I think I just need to hold my nerve

& keep ignoring BUT I'm faltering and not sure if this is the right thing to have done/do?

I have no debt/credit cards etc so the thought of bailiffs turning up at my home is making me feel sick;

however I'm not paying for something I shouldn't have to pay for

because a company make it impossible for you to get out of their ridiculous subscription.

Ignore then. DCA cannot do ANYTHING. I assume you still have the emails sent to them via your sent folder?

And get the thought of baliffs out of your head right now. They will NEVER become involved for this.

Also remember a DCA is a talking shop. They cant touch you and they are NOT bailiffs.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

If my advice helps you, click the star icon at the bottom of my post and feel free to say thanks

read the letter properly

it does not say WILL anything.

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Thanks for replying. You are right it says "may then consider instigating further action to recover the full amount".

I only emailed once, as I spoke via telephone, but yes I have that email saved.

So I keep my resolve and hold my nerve.

Just to reinforce the advice already given, you can definitely get rid of the thought of bailiffs rocking up at your door, it will never happen and never for such a paltry amount they claim you owe.

Keep a diary of events regarding this, and keep all letters the powerless mouth piece CCS send you, they are most certainly NOT bailiffs nor will they ever be!

Their puerile missives are computer generated and spat out by the thousands a week, they are simply psychological rather than actual, once this is realised then their letters cease to have any effect or credibility.

Keep everything in writing or email ONLY.

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!
