Vodafone has charged me for the 2 months - July and August AFTER a member of the staff confirmed it will end on 20th June. So I paid the remaining off for June and naturally, I thought it was cancelled when it came to that date. (The contract was 24 months and did indeed state it would end 20th June.

I have emailed Vodafone but if they refuse to wipe the charges, what should I do?

I'll be happy to ask any questions as long they are understandable.

Thank you.

I received a email, not from Lee but from someone called Jenny. Now I am not happy at all and close to crying here. Despite numerous emails to cancel account, I still have to pay the full amount on which I refuse to. I can't afford it and I don't have the money at all. I know it won't be cancelled if I pay it back in full. I will be taking legal action.

Jenny stands in for Lee when he is not available, I understand.

Is this what Jenny has told you., you must do ?

I can clearly remember going to Vodafone store in town and asking a member of the staff if it will be cancelled. He said and I quote "if you pay this final bill off, then the account is closed." I asked him twice more "Are you absolutely 100% sure it will be closed once I've paid this bill off?"

He checked his computer twice and said yes. My sister was with me at the time. So after that, I assumed the account was closed.

I managed to find some money and have now paid it off.

Good news. Today I received a email from Lee. Vodafone has agreed to refund the money back for the dates 7th July to 22nd September after Lee looked into my account and did indeed find a email requesting a cancellation.

I'd like to say thank you to Lee and the posters on this topic. This is a huge lift off my shoulders!
