Just received a text saying:

Nationwide: We have noticed an IPHONE X has successfully registered onto your account on 17/09 at 12:50. If this was NOT you call us on 03333394812

Ref: xxxxxx

They sent the text from +44 7546 642219

Called this number with an old PAYG phone and withheld the number. The response being they do not accept calls from withheld numbers.

Besides, having issues at the moment with a DCA and a historic mobile account, my gut is telling me these are scammers, as they can make the 0333 numbers from anywhere on the planet being nongeographic or spoofing local numbers.

Any advice???

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

If you feel like it, let Nationwide know about it anyway: if it is a con (as it sounds very likely!), they'll want to know, and in doing so you can help protect their customers. Having said that, historic mobile accounts may have made you jaded when it comes to going out your way for large firms...I know it did me!
