Hello,

I'm looking for a bit of advice regarding 2x defaulted accounts then have been passed to 2 different DCA's.

The first one is a Natwest Gold Credit card, the balance stands at approx £1000 now after paying Triton Credit Services for a few months, then it got passed to Moorcroft after missing a month. I have been paying between £30-£50 a month on this.

The second is an Orange mobile contract passed to Direct Legal and Collections, the balance stands at £500.00 approx. I have been paying £30 a month on this.

On these accounts, the damage has already been done to my credit file. I could do with putting the money towards other good debts that are on up to date each month.

I am due a hefty bonus and Christmas which will stand me in a good place. What are the chances of these companies taking me to court if I offer them £5 per month until the end of the year? I can afford to pay them what I am doing but could put it towards other debts that are in good health and gives me the chance to clear them fast.

Hope you can give me advice.

Thanks

start a thread on each debt

and tell us the stories

if a DCA owns a mobile debt there is something wrong with it for sure.

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Triton is Natwest, did you have an agreement with them before they passed it Moorcr@p to collect?

You still have Natwests bank details? Ignore Moorcr@p pay them nothing, pay the bank direct, how old is this CC, when did you take it out?

Are there any charges or late payment fees you can reclaim? PPI?

Have they stopped the interest?

PAY NATWEST direct, NOT Moorcr@p....

Orange, can be £1 a month for all it's worth, it isn't a priority debt.

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!

500 is a lot for the orange debt.

You might try arguing that this includes a very large amount for services not supplied

The usual with mobiles is to recover outstanding bills (fair enough) plus cost of phone & inclusive usage, but they aren't up front about that.

My argument is that you shouldn't be expected to pay for usage that hasn't been supplied

You may want to SAR Natwest and tot up all the overlimit fees etc you have paid on that account.

My account was passed to Moorcrap to manage but ive managed to silence them.

My thread below goes through my case history. So far I have put in a claim for £900 approx of charges and £4100 worth of interest in restitution. I am currently taking them through the small claims. They already offered to refund all charges less than 6 years old and simple interest without a fight. But I have taken their bluff letter torn it to pieces (in writing) and refused their offer.

As the legal process is ongoing MOORCRAP are barred from any collection activity.

There are not many threads for Natwest as there are others. But Shellys Barclaycard thread is a good read
