Hi hope someone can help.

I had a Goldfish credit card

balance £7525.00 that I got into a mess with and

this was sold onto Cabot.

I have been paying £25 for several years by direct debit.

I have now had a letter from cabot saying I am behind with my payments and to contact them immediately.

The thing is I'm not behind with the payments.

I may have missed the odd payment but nothing recently.

I have had a look at my experience credit file and they have been putting down a score of 8 every month for over two years,

as if I have missed loads of payments

but this £25.00 has been paid each month.

Even in the letter they sent it showed the last six months payments had been received.

The current balance is £6075.00.

The default date was 29/10/08.

haven't contacted them as I'm just confused as to why they have put on my credit file

that several payments have been missed each year when this is not the case.

What do I need to do?

Thanks

Ooooo Why are you paying a DCA like Shaftbot?

Why not send them A CCA request to check they have a valid claim to collect the debt.

They have 14 days to respond. They should buy these accounts with the agreement in the first place...

We could do with some help from you.

Thank you.

It's that long ago I can't remember if they did. I suspect though my agreement was with cabot though. Can they put on my credit file that several repayments are being missed each year when this is not true? According to experian an 8 means the credit agreement has ended but I am still paying it.

Sounds like you may be cash cowed. Especially if they havent even bothered to update your credit file with a true reflection of the account. Time for a SAR To goldfish and cabot. Goldfish so you know what the actual amount was and if you can reclaim anything, and to cabot to get the full rundown of how they calculated this.

If you took the card out pre april 2007, then you should CCA cabot. Cabot rarely hold the correct paperwork to enforce the debt, and rely on peoples lack of knowledge to milk them dry.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

regardless to what they mark

it will disappear TOTALLY on the defaults 6th birthday

however that does NOT mean the debt is not owed.

send crapbot a CCA request

and goldfish an SAR.

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
