Hi there, I signed up to the forum after being helped out (Lurking) a few times.

I have received a letter from "Rossendale Collections" over a random amount.

I've not subscribed for anything,

paid all of my bills on time,

paid for everything I've bought etc.

There is literally no reason for this amount.

So under this belief, I called them.

Not only was his opening line (after verifying that he had the right person)

"So, payment time. Card number.",

he also stated (after my asking of him several times) that the debt was for a company called "Adult Friend Finder".

I have had previous run ins with this company, through several other collectors whom I have reported to the police and gone through the whole "crime reference number" charade.

The amount isnt substantial (£40), but its the principal, and I was just wondering if you guys had any advice...

Thanks in advance,

Reece

So this is a company called "Adult Friend Finder" who has asked Rossendales to collect a debt of £40.00 which you deny owing.

From what you are saying you have had problems with this company previously?

Have you considered contacting "Action Fraud" ?

Have you checked your Credit Files to ensure there has been no reporting of this on your files.

Have you made a formal complaint to the company ?

I am quite surprised that Rossendales are even caught up in this ?

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I've had run ins before from other collection agencies who have said "you owe 32£ for adult friend finder" and "you owe us £36".

I've contacted action fraud with the previous two cases, should I do it again?

I've not checked my credit report, no. I should probably do that!

I've not made a formal complaint yet, I only got the letter at 6pm when I finished work. I wanted to know whether it would be beneficial to write a letter to them?

Well for sure you want them to cease passing your details around to every DCA . Especially if you have never had any dealings with them. Yes, indeed I would contact Action Fraud, again.

In any letter of complaint to this Company, I would point out that unless they cease their harassment by way of 3rd party Debt Collection Agencies, you will be escalating your complaint to the OFT and Financial Ombudsman and also to the Information Commissioner to prevent them (the company) processing your data in this manner.

You should advise that you have already contacted Action Fraud and the Police.

I would insist on receiving their assurance that your details are removed from their Data base immediately and that they stop processing your Data. You also require an apology. If you have to contact them again, then you will be invoicing them for your time in dealing with this matter.

non cancellation of a re -occurring payment authority I bet.

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
