I was wondering if anyone would be able to suggest what a letter could be about.

I am currently in a debt management plan with all debt registered to my address in Wiltshire, I recently had a letter arrive at my parents home in Kent, where I am also registered. my mum called me to tell me about it, she said that it was actually dated 21st May even though it came through the door 2 months later. It was also franked with a second class stamp only.

On the envelope it said Revenue Protection, do not treat as ordinary Mail. and the post mark was from Bath.

I called my management agency and they said they did not think it could be to do with accounts they have as the would have been calling and sending more than one letter, also they did the annual review last month and everyone was happy with what I was paying them and some even dropped interest.

I am obviously very worried what this letter could be about as I am not going to get my hands on it until saturday and My parents will now want to know what it is about. I have no idea what it is and why it went to my old address (even though everything is in the new address).

Has anyone any idea what it could be?

Ignore until you see it (its propbably either a pshing letter or a con - unless you have been caught for fare evasion?) then you can come clean with your parents (always the best thing). If you are in a DMP then they should have negotiated a freezing of interest at zero so your comment about 'some even dropped interest' is very concerning. Rather than worrying about this letter you could start a new thread for each of the debts you have, the history etc and start managing things yourself...

Thanks for your replies,

I have had one train fine last month and I paid it on the spot. My Oyster card did not register when I went through the barriers, although why the barriers would have opened for me if the card didn't regsiter, still puzzles me.

My company has arranged freezing the interest on most of the accounts and the other 2 have been dropped to a very low level. It now sounds like one of them has frozen all the interest anyway.

I am just a little concerned about it but I have only had this one letter so I am sure they would have written or called rather than being silent for 2 months, wouldn't they?

It will just be confirmation of you having paid the the fine. They do send out letters, where you have paid on the spot fines, just as confirmation.

We could do with some help from you.

Alternatively you could always ask Mum to open the letter and read it out to you ?

On the envelope it said Revenue Protection, do not treat as ordinary Mail. and the post mark was from Bath.

that seems to be from revenue protection for royal mail

do not treat as ordinary mail means it has been put to one side as their is a problem with the pre paid impression (stamp) or the letters do not match up to the posting docket supplied with bulk mailings

royal mail may have put the mail to one side by revenue protection until they got paid

ppi posting is usually a credit account and the company has prob not paid their bill

on the envelope, was it a normal stamp you purchase from the post office or was an impression printed on the envelope
