Hi All

I have a Philips TV and a Philips surround sound thingy. I have a remote for each and now and again the TV remote sets off the surround sound and vice versa.

Does anyone know how we can stop this happening? My bf is going spare!!!

Thanks

What is the conflict? Both remotes should be able to work the basic functions of the other - they've been designed to do this. Unless you have a universal remote, there are no 'codes' you can use - as the codes change how the universal remote works, not the equipment itself.

the 'on' codes for each catagory of equipment are distinctly different. just because they are both firrips has no bearing at all.

please bear with me.

are you SURE they are not link by leads [even audio/scart?]

there ARE things like smart link etc, that TELL other pieces of equipment to turn on when i do.

not saying this is the case, but try dropping all the leads [bar mains!] off the surround system...does it still get turned on then?

as scart is easy to drop off

just disconnect the scart lead and see if the annoyance stops,

it could be down to that,

there should be a option in either of the devices menu to turn it off.

soory don't know firripis stuff, but i know sony stuff all does it via the scart lead and their system called smartlink.
