Hi All. I am in charge of organising the World's Biggest Coffee Morning event at work next week raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support. It's all gone a bit "Apprentice" on me and I have to come up with a brand name for the "Cafe" I'm opening up in the office for the day. I have no creative skills at all and that's where you come in hopefully! We will be selling various types of coffee and people are baking cakes and donating them for us to sell - all in the name of raising money for Macmillan. If someone could help me come up with a name that covers some of what we're doing I'd be so grateful! The more comical, the better. All we've come up with so far is Macmillans munchies. I know, terrible!

Hi All I started a claim against Halifax in May 2008 using MCOL. The case was stayed as at the time the OFT were going through the court process. Nothing has happend with the case since and now all trace of the claim has vanished! The county court have no record of it nor is it on the MCOL website. I have moved a couple of times since I began this and have lost all the paperwork. I don't even have the claim number. Is there anything I can do about it now? I've just been told that nothing would have happened until either Halifax or myself moved it along but without the claim number I can't get any info! Any ideas?

Yeah they are both connected -the surround sound system is a dvd player too. They are connected with HDMI and scart. I'm thinking I'm going to have to just live with it!

Oh crap

The remote for the TV will sometimes turn on the surround sound system and vice versa. It's annoying more than anything and I just wondered if it culd be stopped somehow.

Hi All I have a Philips TV and a Philips surround sound thingy. I have a remote for each and now and again the TV remote sets off the surround sound and vice versa. Does anyone know how we can stop this happening? My bf is going spare!!! Thanks

Thanks for the replies. I've today written to the DCA and politely told them to sod off. I'll write a letter to the bank tomorrow I reckon so we'll see what happens next. It will be a huge weight off my shoulders sorting this one out. Thanks again for your help and I'll keep you posted.

I made a court claim against Halifax last May. Unsurprisingly the case was stayed and I have heard absolutely nothing since. In the meantime, they have been adding charges and interest to my overdraft, which was roughly the amount they owe me (around £3k). Now I have been defaulted and am getting a lot of grief from a debt collector. I haven't got internet at home so have to be careful looking at all this whilst at work but basically what I want to know is - is there any progress in terms of the cases starting up again? I know I can get the default removed eventually but can't spare the fee at the moment. I am up to my eyes in debt at the moment and this is one of the many issues bothering me at the moment so if anyone could help I'd be eternally grateful.

Hi All Does anyone know what is going on with the Halifax and paying back the charges? I've had a case outstanding since May/June time and haven't heard anything for months? Has anyone had any pay outs from them lately?

I am making my 3rd claim with Halifax. I started the court proceedings through Moneyclaim but now it's going directly through my local court and the abnk have been granted a stay. I don't understand this stay business. Nor do I understand how or why to get it lifted. What does this mean for everyone who has their claims on hold now, in the same situation as me? I'm sure the answers are on here somewhere but this site has got so huge since my last claim! I would be extremely grateful for any help with this as I'm not sure what to do.

Can anyone recommend a company which offers unsecured loans to people with crap credit with a reasonable interest rate? The only ones i have found have offered me the superbly competitive rate of 68% APR. Tempting. I may be desperate but I'm not that desperate.
