It was mentioned on the BBC news channel before...so im not sure if there is a link to it anywhere?

The US government is to wipe out all bad debts - that is the headline on there, but it was mentioned about something similar to happen here.

I think it will only be corporate debts, I mean only banks can be allowed to rack up trillions in debt, nearly go bankrupt then expect to get bailed out by the government using your tax money.

While the man in the street in debt is there because of their own greed and failure to budget properly:rolleyes:

That's economic speak. It means debts owed to THEM.

Nothing to do with the ordinary Mr Joe Bloggs on the street I'm afraid.

Nice thought though :)

I do think its a disgrace that companies can rack up loads of debt & then be bailed out by governments

Anyway...our government is going to have to do something about personal debt in this country, so i can see them being left with no choice but to have to pay the ordinary persons debts off eventually :)

hi everyone, it amazes me how these corporate firms / companies get into mega debt because of their pure greed , bad dodgy investments and so on & then get bailed out by the taxpayers, or go bust & set up business again under a different name but the ordinary joe public who has debt is harrassed charged extorionate interest & unlawful fees by unscrupulous DCA'S who get away with it!! unfair or what. makes my blood boil, says she as i reach for the blood pressure tablets ! ziggy

It'll never happen.

Ultimately, we're all responsible for our own actions. That includes running up debts with credit cards etc etc etc... We do not have to have credit! There's that little thing called saving for things too :)

Governments don't pay it, we do, as in taxpayers.

They don't bale out British Car/Mbike makers or the manufacturing industries because they are full of ordinary working people, probably union minded, in whom the government have no interest whatsoever. Stick them in a call centre or put them on IB - it's cheaper.

Banks, however, are full of money and make even more money from the aforementioned great unwashed, so why not cut the Defence budget a little further and use the money to prop up the banks and therefore squeeze a little bit more money.........and round and round it goes......

HOIST BY THEIR OWN PETARD.

Blimey it works....:-)

Just like the current Government presumably. Their attitude was "waste money now, get elected now and hope that nobody notices". We have all paid a fortune in extra taxes and for what exactly? Has anything improved in the past 10 years? I think not.

Frankly, if Cameron had a mind to get rid of the additional 800,000 Government employees whose only purpose is to make life miserable for the rest of us, he could wipe the Labour Party out so completely that they will never be in power again. Let's hope he's got the balls.

Before you criticise another man you should first walk a mile in his shoes. Then, when you criticise him, you'll be a mile away and he won't have any shoes on.

Don't get me confused with somebody knowledgeable by all those green blobs. I got most of them by making people laugh.

Fred, none of them have balls, that's why they're politicians ;)

Yes, your right. To be honest, I feel disenfranchised because there isn't a single party that offers what I would like to see, at least, not one with any chance of being elected, so I will just vote for the one with the best chance of getting rid of Broon and the socialists.

Regards.

Agree 100% BB!!

I remember too and I wasn't a fan. But I've also lived life for the last 11 years under this one. When I say "under", I mean "under", because never have we been less free or more taxed. As soon as they got in their attitude changed from "non-other than the political wing of the British People" to "We are the masters now". This lot lie like a Woolworths menu. EU Treaty. I rest my case. IMO, ANYTHING would be better - even Cameron.

Regards.
