  1. andydd - there were 74 complaints made to the Financial Ombudsman Service about all three CRAs in the first half of the year and I believe 26 were upheld. FOS has yet to publish figures about any individual CRA because the complaint volumes are so low. On insurance, the CreditExpert product is a package of benefits of which ID fraud expenses insurance is just one. We do not offer an opt out for any of the individual benefits. However, if people just want to see their credit report then we do offer a standalone credit report for £2. James
  2. A lot of what I said was edited out, so not particularly helpful to people. We've posted a full response on our website which might help illuminate some of the issues. Rest assured we take our responsibilities very seriously and in spite of providing hundreds of millions of checks to lenders and several million reports to the public each year people make very few complaints to the ombudsman/regulator. http://www.experian.co.uk/about-us/dispatches-response.html?intcmp=exphp-dispatches-240214 James
  3. Our full response to the programme is now on our website here: http://www.experian.co.uk/about-us/dispatches-response.html?intcmp=exphp-dispatches-240214 James
  4. You credit rating should start to increase soon as lenders usually concentrate on your most recent history. There are some that might take exception to you having defaulted in the past six years though. The score we provide on our website to people is built to reflect how many lenders are likely to rate your credit history, so if it's still quite low it might be best to wait a little longer if you're planning to make a new application. James
  5. rimarj - if you'd like to send details to [email protected] we'll happily investigate for you. James
  6. Happy to confirm that a credit agreement can only be registered as a default on your credit report once. If you found a debt had been re-registered and let us know we would take the matter up for you with the lender. James Experian
  7. If a contract has been made under ‘undue influence’, it may not be legally enforceable - perhaps one for a lawyer to advise on though. James
  8. The defaulted marked 'debt assigned' is only seen by you, not your lenders, so won't be affecting your credit rating. James
  9. If the credit card has been paid on time and is not highly utilised (% balance to limit) then it should be beneficial to get it added to your report. It should be on there so if you'd like to send us details we'll investigate for you. James
  10. Hi. Your credit report will include all of your credit account records. When lenders look at your data it is anonymised, so they don't see the names of your other lenders. It can also be summarised for some lenders, so they get a high level view of the main details and can then chose to go in and look at the raw data if they wish. Delinquency may feature in one of these summaries and is simply of way of flagging up arrears on an active account that have become fairly serious. I think technically an account is classed as delinquent if it is registered as status 3 or higher for consecutive months. Your credit report will include the full status history, so you can see all the codes and then they occurred. Hope that helps. James
  11. Cazz2269 - sorry you were given wrong advice. The default days should not be changed even if the debt is sold on. If you send details to [email protected] we'll raise disputes for you and also retrain our agent on this issue. Thanks. James Jones Experian
  12. Sounds like they haven't registered it as overdue on your report at this stage. Suggest you raise a dispute with whichever credit reference agency you got your report from. They will mark the entry as disputed while they contact VM for you. James Jones Experian
  13. I'm sorry Robertxc, I really don't know the answer to this question. I'm not a DPA expert. ICO will know or if you contact our Consumer Help Service they will find out for you and let you know.
  14. LOL - I was in a meeting. Do you really expect me to sit looking at this website all day?
