A friends has had problems with her pc , it kept switching itself off for no reason. i rang currys as this kept happening , she had to contact the technical side which were no help whatsoever. she then rang the shop she bought it from saying she could have an exchange and that some one would contact her that day (this was 2 weeks ago) no one did so she rang the shop again only to be told they wouldn't say that. she asked to speak to the supervisor who was quite nasty in her attitude.

Tonight the whole thing just wouldn't come on and all shes getting is a grayish colour screen. she paid £400 for the computer only six months ago. is their anything at all she can do .

Yes, take it into the store or contact the techguys.

She should not have too much trouble with this. Given that she called previosuly, there will (hopefully) be records that the problem existed beforehand.

Do let us know how you get on.

rosey contact there helpine who deal with computer repairs. curry's know less about computers then comet and pcworld combined. they know about washing machines. they definetly wont be able to inspect, repair instore. so only use them as a delivery point not as a remedy.

their helpines can arrange a repair man to come out if it is a desktop PC or a courier collection if it is a notebook PC.

you did not state which, PC means personal computer which can be either. even PDA's are classed as personal computers. which would also be a courier service.

.

So who would deal with a laptop - which is neither a desktop nor a notebook?

Just asking for your advice - right or wrong - to be at least complete
