Update

They never even looked at the car until 2-30pm when I rang and they said they could not find a fault. And that the light was not coming on now. I now have the car back yet again. So lets see how long it manages this time until something else goes wrong.

I now have my funny peppery smell in the car again when I turn the heater on in the car.

I am taking it back in again first thing in the morning, will update when I get a response from them.

Emissions light came on agian last night. Took car back in again today and now need another egr valve exactly 1 year after it was replaced thay rae trying to say im out of warranty cos car has done 62500 miles my argument is going to be that part was exactly one year old so the warranty should not come into it. they should replace the part free as its obviously not up to standard, let you know how i go on.

The problem is this car was a lemon from day 1, tell them to get it sorted or else you will take it else where and send them the bill. Only ever had 1 vauxhall myself, I promised myself I would never have another as long as I walk this earth.

You deserve better service than this, and don't have to tolerate it make a written complaint to the garage.

spoke to vauxhall customer care today, they are saying to me no way its out out warranty but when I spkoe to the dealer vauxhall had told them they would not replace the part because its too cheap (less than £250) I have seen an email now to Vauxhall but its not looking like they will give in and pay for it, im stuck with a car i cant use again for at least 2 weeks cos even if i pay for the part its out of stock and on back order so will be 2 weeks before they have the part

Hi all

beware zafiras are are notorious for engine problems. Sell car before to late and loose to much money!!!!

These are crap cars. The dpf is fitted too make money out of you !! Not compulsory can be removed and there are specialised companies out there. Dpf are for lorrys and hgv's not cars ? Dealerships dont diagnose problems properly but replace complete whole parts and thats where they make money on new cars not from selling them new. Only warranties and extras make money. Hope this helps

I will just say that DPF's are a bunch of cods-wallop.

They don't do anything but give throttle hungry reps the satisfaction of seeing a puff of smoke when they steam away from the lights.

The same Vauxhall has been in my family for 19 years and despite a liking for wheel bearings, it's been amazing. I'd be looking to change this car as it seems truly terrible. I don't know where your rights are, but Vx should be looking at giving you a hefty discount for all your troubles, seeing as you've documented what seems to be more faults on here than my family have had in 20 years!

The peppery/curry smell is anti-freeze. It'd point to a leaky heater matrix or something similar which is a complete mare of a job to have done.

As a Vauxhall enthusiast and driver, I really cannot imagine how late the work experience boy must've been to have produced this vehicle!

Keep your chin up, Vauxhall in the UK are generally quite fair when you go to them direct, the dealers on the other hand can be hit and miss!
