No they didn't budge. We couldn't go today - the claim is on my son's account so it will have to be on a day when we can both go to the court. The court is less than 1/4 mile from where we live, it's just a matter of us both being available. Pobabaly tomorrow, definitely this week.

interesting story - Ge Capital are a slippery bunch - my involvement with them has resulted in a nil response and I'm waiting for for LBA date to come around (26/2) before I go to court - different situation, but same principles...bet they can't find the opriginal agreement as it was with FNTF, and transferred to GE.

good luck - I'm watching with interest (no pun intended)

Steve;)

Halifax - paid out without getting to court - £250 WON - no intention of going, stated too costly!!

Halifax no 2 account - paid out without a fight - (by mistake, £1650 - should have been £1200 - had to pay some back)

Quick update - claim deemed served on GE Money on 21 February with deadline for response 7 March. As far as court can tell (they have a backlog!) GE Money have not replied. Request for Judgement going in tomorrow (Thursday 15th). One step nearer....

GE Money say they are going to defend the claim in court - no surprises there then. However, got a phone call form their solicitors (Salans) asking for a 28-day extension so that we can negotiate a settlement.

We have agreed to that (after all we are very reasonable people) but left them in no doubt that a negotiated settlement would involve us getting all our money. ;)

Final offer received today with usual confidentiallity agreement and propsed joint notice to the court. Wrote and told them we would accept the offer, wouldn't sign the agreement and that WE would inform the court the matters were settled once we received cleared funds.

Final stretch in sight!

Hi all, I have just sent SAR to Sarah Wainwright at GE Capital for my Evans and Dorothy Perkins store cards. So I am right in the beginning here, however, I forgot to send recorded delivery:( , do you think it will matter? Also the SAR I sent was the same one I sent to the Halifax Bank as I presume it is the same template for store cards as for the bank?

Would someone please tell me if that was right?

Anyway, fingers crossed, I will keep you all informed of my progress, and look forward to hearing from you all:D

i would send it again recorded as they will more than likely deny receiving this - which will delay your claim timetable. You were right to use the same letters as i have done the same- good luck!

Thanks for your help, I will resend. Just wondering I have already sent cheques in envelopes, do you think they would still cash them? Should I cancel the cheques and re-send recorded? Or wait and see? Sorry to be a pain, but I really want to get on with this, Ive been saying I will do something abiout my charges since dec 2006, thanks again.

prob best to cancel the first cheque and make reference to the first letter and cheque in your next letter and include a new cheque.

no problems for asking- we all like to help others get their money back and beat the banks at their own game. Good luck and get ready for the long wait! :)

Alternatively you could wait a couple of days and then ring Sarah Wainwright to ask if she has received it via the customer services general number 0870 124 2446 or the Trent House switchboard 0113 280 7080
