Hi.

I topped up my Iceland Bonus Card this morning, waited a few hours for the balance to update, to find that it updated with a shortage of £50.

Emailed their resolution team, no response.

Phoned their customer service department, they couldn't understand that the balance was updated but incorrect, told me to wait 24-48 hours for the balance to update.

Emailed Customer care, no response.

Messaged them on twitter and facebook, no response.

I wasn't saying it was Iceland,

what I am saying is that Iceland are saying they have received the payment,

my bank is saying they have made the payment,

but Iceland are saying they only received part of the amount.

do I chargeback the whole amount, or just the amount that Iceland are saying they haven't received.

not sure you can chargeback a partial sum of a higher transaction made by a debit card.

chargeback the whole payment made.

let things settle if it works.

then use the iceland card as normal

you can chargeback partial and if you got part of what you paid for you should only do a partial.

When you explain the situation to your bank, they will likely tell you to raise one for the difference

Can I play devil's advocate and suggest the entire amount should be sought with a chargeback?

You can always re-credit the card with new funds once that's done.

The reason I say that is because it's quite possible when Iceland realise what's going on they will simply freeze the card or some such action, which will then leave the OP unable to access the £35 they don't dispute. Depends on how Iceland choose to handle it I suppose.

Yeah, they finally got back to me today, apologised for the error and credited me with £85 on top of the £35 they credited yesterday, so basically gave me £35 for free, happy days.....

On top of that I still got the £1 for every £20 put on, so another £5 free as well......
