Please can I get some advice on the best way to deal with this.

The amount is nearly £4.5k.

Bailiffs (Bristow & Sutor) keep coming, but have never been allowed in nor given any opportunity to gain access.

I am considering applying for IVA, as this is not the only debt I have.

Hi,

I have had experience of this to the tune of £6k,

1st order of business is to get B and S off your back,

Your local councillor should be able to help with that, Google will have their name , email and Phone number. Calling the Bailiffs, or the Council call centre is a waste of time

Do you have any of the following?

On Benefits? Unable to Work? Chronic Ilness? Pregnant?, low income?.  let me  know and I can help with what to say, and finally get you into some affordable payments.

We could do with some help from you.

Follow London1971's advice and ignore the bailiff for now  if they can't gain admission there's not a lot they can do unless there is a car they can clamp.

The bailiff: A 12th Century solution re-branded as Enforcement Agents for the 21st Century to seize and sell debtors goods as before Oh so Dickensian!

how many liability orders do the council have?

£4.5k is several years so this is not a new problem to you?
why has it tken so long for it to come to bailiff action. there must be a reason.

we dont have the full story  here by far......

please dont rush down any iva/bk route etc etc

esp if your other debts are consumer credit related.

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
