Hi

I wonder if Helena or Malc the eon rep can help me?

I originally posted on another forum today which Helena kindly responded

but i have been unable to log on to reply.

In case Helena doesn't see this see below my thread.

I was due to pay my last quarter bill on the 10th of jan.

No excuses but jan is a tough month so I didn't pay it.

I called up last week to make a payment and I was told to call back with a meter reading

as my next bill was due and then I could make a payment

and he could set up a payment arrangement to pay the next bill.

I called to day to do just that only to be told my bill was over £700

and I had to pay it today or I would have to have payment meters to pay off the debt.

I told the lady that I wanted to pay some today and I will pay 2 payments to clear the balance

one in feb and one in March which she told me was impossible

because I have never stuck to my other payments arrangements a

nd my argument is that I have always paid regardless.

My bill this time was for just over £200.

I really don't see the point in putting in a payment meter to collect a debt

that I can clear in 2 months surely this is better then taking a couple pound a week of what ever I put in meter.

Appreciate your help if you can?

I have made a payment today through internet banking for £100.

Thanks

You need to write to them

When you speak to them on the telephone they do not care

There is no record

You need to act fairly quickly other wise they will steam ahead and get meters changed at your cost

I bet they have added lots of £10 fees to the account as well

Better suppliers out there once you get account settled

If i have helped in any way hit my star.

any advice given is based on experience and learnt from this site :-)

I have alerted malc to this

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Hi whatamess

As you say, Helena replied to your post on another forum yesterday. I've copied her reply below.

Firstly I’m a bit surprised we wouldn’t offer you any kind of arrangement, that’s normally the preferred way to collect an outstanding balance. Although, if you have had arrangements in the past and these have always failed we may ask you to pay half of the balance first, then an arrangement for the rest.

I think you should maybe have another word with us now you've made a payment towards the balance.

If you could also make another payment then, it may make a difference.

But shout up if you need me.

Helena

Thanks Malc. As I am unable to make another payment until the end of feb where does that leave me? I can make half in feb and the other half in March and that bill is cleared. I don't want to call again to get another unhelpful person on the phone to tell me "sorry we want full payment or your getting a payment meter".

Thanks

Hi whatamess

It depends on what's happened before as to the options we can offer. As Helena said, a series of failed payment arrangements may make it difficult to set up further arrangements.

Each case, though, is looked at on its individual merits. Either Helena or myself will be happy to take a look if you drop an email with your details to the address in my Biography.

Hope this helps.
