Parking Collection £400 worth of tickets

so basically, i arrived home from work today, welcomed by £400 worth of tickets.

 

i got the tickets from College, which i remember, aparrently you need a permit to park here ( which no one told me). alot of people said you do not have to pay them, as its privet grounds, and they cant inforce them, ive read a few other posts, and im still unsure where i stand

 

i phoned them, and they said they would email me the evidence of my parking.

 

so im just wondering if i should pay it or not?

Dont contact them, you may encourage them! Normally you are advised to ignore all PPC invoices. With £400 worth they may be very persistent.

the main thing is its in my mums name, and shes trying to move house, and shes worried she will get bad credit, but they cant do this

Only way they could damage your Mums credit is if they took her to court, won and she never paid within 28 days! All of which is very very unlikely, even with £400 worth!

As it is your mother's car, they have no case against her. I presume they have written the invoices to your mother and not you?

The issue is not whether this is private ground, it's who issued the tickets. If they are issued by or on behalf of a local council, or (unlikely) the police, they must not be ignored. If it is a private firm, then yest they can.
