Hi all,

my first time here,

i know the 3 night thing is a bit of a grey area,

but does anybody know how often i can stay at my boyfriends rented house before we are classed as living together

To be classed as living together the DWP look at a number of things and it is NOT dependent on how many nights your boyfriend stays. In DWP parlance it's known as LTAHAW (living together as husband and wife) or CP for civil partners.

 

They look at a number of things including such as whether he has his own place; is he liable (and pays) his own rent, council tax, utility bills etc etc; do you have joint finances; who does the housework, meals etc etc; have you got children together; are you seen as a cohabiting couple by neighbours, friends, family etc.

 

Absolutely nothing is set in stone and it depends on the individual circumstances.

Probaly didnt make myself clear,

I live in a lha property which I claim hb for

my boyfriend lives in a privet rented house

we have seperate bills etc

I dont want him to stay at mine because it is such a grey area

but can i stay at his
