bank acting illegally by freezing my account
alfwithhair replied to dylan2907's topic in NatWest Bank
Sometimes totally innocent transactions such as EBay or a cash withdrawl can trip the banks anti-fraud software and freeze an account. What I find hard to believe here is that the bank will not discuss the reason with you. Have you been in to your branch to see the manager? -
Catalogues are not priority debts. If you have offered an afordable amount and are paying it regulary then keep this arrangement up regardless of what they say. There threats are all hot air, they will go no where near a court if you are making payments, no matter how small. NEVER EVER speak to any of them on the phone. If they ring refuse to answer their security question and tell them in writing only. Their tool is your fear. There is nothing to fear, if they don't like what you offer, tough, just pay it. Also get all the late payment over limit charges credited back to the account and ask them to freeze any unincurred interest or there is no point paying token payments as the balance will just rise each month. If they won't play ball, two can play at that game. YOU control your finances, not them. Fear not from the likes of these creditors, they just bully and intimidate to get ill-affordable payments
-
All hot air. Usual DCA cobblers to get you to make a payment. If I rang you and said " its alf from alf's collection service, give me all your personal details." You would tell me to bugger off. Do the same to Crapyquest. You don't have to tell them anything. personally I wouldn't pay them anything either, but thats up to you.

Prepay credit card that can be loaded from a paypal account?
alfwithhair replied to bigissue's topic in General
Paypal did there own years ago don't know if they are still available https://www.paypal-press.co.uk/content/detail.aspx?releaseid=117&newsareaid=2 -
The person selling the vehicle must complete section 6 'new keeper or new name/new address details' of the V5C. Both you and the seller need to sign the declaration in section 8. It is the responsibility of the person selling the vehicle to send it in to DVLA. They should then hand you the V5C/2 section appropriately filled in.

eBay are a law unto themselves. You are flogging a dead horse trying to get them to listen. They always find in favour of the buyer. Wrong I know, but had this many times with chargebacks through Paypal.

Tribunal won - how long until money is received?
alfwithhair replied to feelingsad's topic in Benefits and HMRC
Yes I agree, give it a few weeks then phone the DWP. My wife won her appeal, even got the print out from the tribunal before we left. Left it 4 weeks, no money so rang them, said they knew nothing about the tribunal outcome. Got Tribunal Service to fax the letter to DWP, money in the bank 3 days later. Chase them. We know mistakes happen, but so does ignorance on their part. -

1st Credit monitoring my credit activity
alfwithhair replied to alfwithhair's topic in Debt Collection Agencies
They have the account in their sweaty little mitts all right, they have done for many years since they bought it off B/C, but seem reluctant to do anything about collecting other than idle threats. I pleaded with them to take me to court, but it fell on deaf ears. Maybe LCS was on holiday that week -
I have had a letter from these people saying "We have been monitoring your credit activity with one of the credit reference agencies" Funny I see no evidence of this upon checking. "We have received recent notification which suggests that your financial position has changed" Strange I know nothing about this change? The lengths these people will go to to get you to call them. Sorry chaps, will not be happening. Been there, done that got the pie and the tea-shirt. Get a life and a real job.

Co-op do one too. Cashbuilder I think its called. Make sure you don't open an account with a bank that has any connection to any debts you have arrears with. They could use the 'right to offset' and clear out your account without notice and perfectly legal.

CCJ do i have one -confused???? please please help
alfwithhair replied to vimalkm's topic in Debt Collection Agencies
Hi and wecome to CAG Yes if you get a copy of your credit file it will show the CCJ if there is one and any other financial occurances for the last 6 years. Remeber to put all your previous address in the search not just your current one. It is unlikely a loan would of been approved with a CCJ but it would depend on the lender. I don't know if a CCJ have any effect on a travel visa.
