  1. Hi, I live in Spain, I have done for the last 5 years. I had several properties in the UK, all of which have been repossessed. The mortgages were covered but I have an outstanding approximately of 100k gbp on all the properties ( This is the total amount). I did want to declare myself bankrupt, but found out that it is only possible if I was back in the UK. I have several CCJ´s estimated around 6 from council tax and other utilities debts. Therefore, my dilemma, which I feel is not really a dilemma but my parents think it is the best course of action to move back to the UK. If I come back then I have to declare myself homeless and move into a hostel, I think this is my only option. With my 3 children. If I am housed or when I am eventually and then I get a job, I will not automatically be able to go bankrupt, because this will be the decision of the court. Or is this not necessarily the case? Also, if I am, then it is not a simple case of my debt is wiped off after 6 years. There will be a lot of restrictions, one of them maybe that when I do work I will have to pay a subset of my wages for the debt. Which as you can see by the size of the debt, will take several years and I am already approaching 40. I see that I will not be able to apply for anything in the UK, everything is credit scored so if I do get my own place, it is highly unlikely that I will be able to get any gas, electricity, a bank account or other such means. Is this me being dramatic or it may not be as drastic as that?
  2. The lack of information is due to my lack of understanding at the time, even after much research I must admit I am totally confused. I was facing repossession, this seemed too good to be true, I did not want to do it. Yes, I sent it thinking it was a way to pay off my mortgage. By no means did I do it to cause fraud or deceive anyone. The thing I do not understand is the fact it was sent 2 years ago. In between that time, the bank have taken the properties and sold them.
  3. I did a Bill of Exchange out of desperation in order to (as I believed) to pay off my mortgage and stop the bank repossessing the properties. I had 4 properties at the time. I was told by a friend of a friend this had worked for them and for the price of 700 gbp they could conduct it for me. I was dubious, but without realising the total ins and outs went ahead with it. 2 years later my house has been repossed, but the fraud squad are after me for sending a cheque which was a bill of exchange. What is the likelihood of me being done for fraud? Scared and terrified and naive for believing this was a solution to help my situation.
  4. This post ended a few months ago. I did a Bill of Exchange out of desperation. I did not realise the total ins and outs and was lead to believe it was a way to clear my debt and save my house from repossession. 1 year later my house has been repossed, but the fraud squad are after me for sending a cheque which was a bill of exchange. What is the likelihood of me being done for fraud? Scared and terrified and naive for believing this was a solution to help my situation.
  5. I did try that and NRAM said their charges were correct and they would not pay out anything. That was before the repossession.
  6. NRAM - have repossessed my property - My mortgage is 150k, prestige finance original loan was 22k. During that time I paid 10k, but due to arrears and charges they are saying I owe in excess of 30k at 2011. To date, I'm sure the figure is more. How do I stop that figure ever increasing. It seems to be a trait, I understand they are not regulated with the FSA, but there must be something I can do to stop them taking the whole amount, even more out of the property?
  7. Leeds Building Society- mortgage PENALTY fees - offer £150 for +£7k claim!! I have been repossessed on two properties with Leeds Building Society. I sent them letters for both accounts stating unlawful charges from this site. They replied saying for compensation they will reimburse 150 gbp, then listed the following for both accounts: Narrative Costs (£) 11 x arrears letters 302.50 3 x Unpaid Cheques 82.50 6 x Broken Arrangements 180.00 5 x Field Agent Fees* 5 x Field Agent admin Fees 250.00 422.63 5 x Instructing Solicitors 625.00 1 x Tracing Agents 30.00 Total Of Society’s Fees 1,892.63 4 x Solicitors Costs 459.50 Total Fees and Costs 2,352.13 Narrative Costs (£) 11 x arrears letters 302.50 4 x Unpaid Cheques 110.00 1 x Unpaid direct debit 27.50 4 x Broken Arrangements 120.00 5 x Field Agent Fees 5 x Field Agent admin Fees 281.75 250.00 2 x Instructing Solicitors 250.00 Estate Agents Costs 288.00 Re-Enforcement Fee 100.00 Total Of Society’s Fees 1,729.75 4 x Solicitors Costs 2,257.85 Total Fees and Costs 3,987.60 They state write to the FSA if not happy, and we all know what happens when you do that, just need to know if there is anything I can do, 150 gbp for 7k in charges does not seem right.

  10. Sorry, they are all for houses. First mortgagers got paid in full, second charges claim that they have not. But, then the loan never decreased they were with Prestige Finance. You borrow 20k, pay back most of it then 8 years later still owe 20k.
  11. after nearly 2 years of reclaiming my PPI from GE Money, they referred me to Pinnacle. Guess what Pinnacle, claim it is with GE Money. GE Money say no and that is their final decision. To go ask the FLA. Obviously, I did not wait for that, I thought I would be smart and ask the FOS for help. at the same time, they asked Pinnacle, and 9 months later, they say, they need to wait on Pinnacle´s decisions. Because, the Insurance advisor is not in their jurisdiction. Any advise, gladly welcomed. Tired and fed up!
  12. Been repossessed 5 times this year, I know record time. In my world anyway! Wrote to one company i.e. Blenheim, that have stated that I am owed 400 pounds in excessive mortgage fee arrear charges. NRAM, claim their charges were fair. Just wondering what I can claim on, and I really want to go further with NRAM. Any ideas?
  13. I rent several properties as a corporate let, and unfortunately I have failed to keep up payments with the council tax. The arrears are from 2011 to 2013. They have all been passed to the bailiffs due to non payment. I sent the following letter to the bailiffs and Greenwich council: I understand Greenwich council has appointed you to recover my council tax liability arrears of 2011/12 of 5,328.44. Firstly I would like to make you aware..............Due to my circumstances, I am unable to pay this in one payment. I advocate a payment schedule of 24 months of equal payments of £222. With 23 payments of ..................................It should be noted that I am not refusing to pay this debt but only asking for a fair payment period................Please also send an itemised statement of account.......... Greenwich council have not replied, but the bailiff has replied with the following statement: We have received all the Liability orders from Royal Borough of Greenwich for UstayLondon. Due to the balance outstanding we are not able to enter into arrangement of 222.00 per month arrangement. We are not refusing any payments that you wish to make, but we have guidelines for what arrangement we can offer. If one of our bailiffs have to call round, then they would be required to levy goods to secure the debt for Greenwich Council and then it would be down to the Enforcement bailiff to enter into arrangement with you to clear the balance. All cases are on hold for 7 days to allow you time to get back to us. Please advise on next steps due to the fact that I can not afford to pay in one go.
