They have provided me with a rubbish service, i can never connect. have had stern talks with them, a man from tech help has rung me and said that basically i have a long line issue which means i m too far from the exchange so my connection is not stable. He suggested i downgrade to 256 and that would make it stable and he gave me 2 months credit on my account. I want to leave but i suspect they ll all be as bad as each other. However there have been whole weeks when i have nt been able to connect, and at 20 quid a month i feel ripped off. I am considering suing them under the sale of goods act as the service wasnt reasonable, nor was it fit for the purpose-of having a stable connection.

Can anyone help or have experience of suing service providers?

Cheers

Guy

You should get those weeks credited back, we had problems with them, we was with them for 1 month and only had the net for 1 week! they are terrible

yes i think the weeks credited would be nice, but i ve had 2 months free so that makes it about right. Still quite tempted to chance my arm in court, but i think that would be more hassle than its worth-disconnect and get on talk talk innit?

It does seem like a hassle in this situation, they could just say that since your out of range (or whatever) that there is noting more they can do. Hve you thought of using wirless maybe this works diffrently?

Make sure you get what is owed to you, don't give them a penny that they have not earnt.

What does your contract of service state? If it notes that it is not responsible for providing a working service, any court would be easily swayed by that - expecially if they'd already credited you for not providing such a service. A Small Claims Action would be netter services as a method of getting out of the contract to go with a different ISP, if they refused to release you under a 12 month contract.
