  6. I would help, price of diesel in herefordshire is currently 1.20.9. Going up 7p a month i reckon. Just got a new car that was better on the fuel as well, waste of money as any savings are blown in fuel tax!
  7. i agree i work at a shop and use the card terminal frequently, its the simplest thing in the world to use and attempting to debit the card 9 times with 2 authorisation codes is really shifty.
  8. I dont think the landlord is doing anything dodgy to the tenant, hes doing a dodgy on the mortgage as the mortgage terms will most likely say that he cant rent out the place (as buy to let mortgages are usually a percent more expensive) If i were the tenant, I would say you know this and for a tenner I ll pretend to be the landlords bf,son whatever in front of the surveyor and wont suddenly shout "I ll pay you the rent next week mate!" Landlord has no right of access in this case as there are no repairs that need doing. Plus asking the tenant to vacate the place so he can diddle the banks is just cheeky.
  9. yes you ll get it back, i m a landlord and holdnig deposits get refunded even if someone changes their mind which you didnt-he changed his mind about what he was doing with the property. Its a european law i beleive that has recently come into effect as holding deposits did get held (not by myself i d like to point out) however it is most infuriating that you think a property is let and the "future tenant" pulls out and wastes everyone s time. (not that you did that but i m just saying)
  10. i had had a civil penalty charge notice put on my car last night in Hereford. I was\parked in a private car park and did not park in a designated parking bay, along with other cars as it was a theater car park and it was full up. My ticket says i have breached the contract code and they have fined me 80 quid, should i pay up or is it worth writing a letter?
  11. yes i think the weeks credited would be nice, but i ve had 2 months free so that makes it about right. Still quite tempted to chance my arm in court, but i think that would be more hassle than its worth-disconnect and get on talk talk innit?
  12. They have provided me with a rubbish service, i can never connect. have had stern talks with them, a man from tech help has rung me and said that basically i have a long line issue which means i m too far from the exchange so my connection is not stable. He suggested i downgrade to 256 and that would make it stable and he gave me 2 months credit on my account. I want to leave but i suspect they ll all be as bad as each other. However there have been whole weeks when i have nt been able to connect, and at 20 quid a month i feel ripped off. I am considering suing them under the sale of goods act as the service wasnt reasonable, nor was it fit for the purpose-of having a stable connection. Can anyone help or have experience of suing service providers? Cheers Guy
  13. I bought a pair of hearing aids (60%loss) in 2001 with a 3 year guarantee. Now after the 3 years they failed each side pretty much every 6 months or so, this would cost 69 a time to sort out. Obviously this is very distressing because if the right hand side goes i have to rely on my weaker left side which means i have great trouble hearing people. Now they are in the ear hearing aids, so are susceptible, to damp, wax and sweat etc so every time i bought them in to the retailer, this was the excuse for them failing. I accepted this as i thought "well they re out of the 3 year guarantee so there s not much to be done" I think these excuses are used by the retailer as they re used to selling hearing aids to grannies, but I m 28 i work in a music shop, go to the gym and generally lead a very active and noisy life. If these hearing aids are made of straw then why did they sell them to me. Dont get me wrong they re amazing hearing aids but the reliability of them was awful. But the sale of goods act says "reasonable and fit for the purpose" for 6 years is it? Now one of them has failed again and now they want 95 to repair it! I m so upset by this that i ve got to fork out yet again at a £26 price increase! What do you reckon, i would like to sue them under the sale of goods act but i reckon it could get quiet messy. I basically just want a repaired hearing aid that i dont have to spend 95 to have my right side hearing back
