Hello All, I received a parking ticket in a car park controlled by Euro car parks. There were 2 ticket machines in the car park, I appealed the charge notice on the following grounds.

1. One of the ticket machines was taped up and had a sign on it saying out of order please use the other machine.

2. The other machine was displaying a red flashing LED and 'Out of order' on the LCD display.

I took photo's of both the machines in this condition and included the photo's with my appeal. They have now written to me saying they have not had any other reports of machines being out of order. Therefore they say the charge of £60 still stands. If I pay within 10 days they are offering me a discounted rate of £30. If I do not pay within the 10 days then the charge will go back upto £60 plus handling fee. Any advise would be very helpfull. I just can't believe even with photographic proof that the machines were out of order they have turned down the appeal

Stop worrying about it, and ignore them from here on in.

All you have done so far is to confirm that the whole process is an unlawful [problem], and, unfortunately, demonstrated to them that you are a potential target.

Ignore them, they'll send a few more letters, and then they'll go quiet.

There is no appeals process. It's a trick to get you to contact them and add legitimacy to the fake charge. It's a private company, they're not going turn down cash.

If there was a mistake with my phone bill, I wouldn't 'appeal' to BT! This is no different.

Ignore them from now on and look forward to your junkmail: See here: Euro Car Parks Letterchain
