  1. That is interesting, the FOS seemed to think that it was being sorted out soon. I found my own original statements and when l opened the account there was no PPI it was added later on without my authorisation, l would not have asked for it. Cups
  2. Hi, I put in a claim for a rebate of PPI on an old HFC loan account that l had with HFC Bank for just about a year, back in 1992 /1993. I then sent it off to the FOS when HFC rejected it. HFC said that they had no statements and that the only one that l could produce showed a closing PPI payment for the last couple of days of 69p so they offered that and the FOS said that is all they could do. That decision was last year, and l just sucked it up I have been helping my dad out at home who has just retired, and for some reason some of my corries are in his house??? Including a full set of statements for this account, showing nearly £400 worth of PPI paid. I am making the claim because it was ticked by the HFC salesman who said that l had to have it, and also my empolyment status would have imvalidated any claim. So l have sent it off to HFC with a covering letter asking them to reconsider, particularly in light of their original offer of repayment, albeit only the 69p l could prove. Is it too late?? ThanksCups
  3. Hi, Maybe sense will prevail?? Cups
  4. Hi Just spoke to FOS, they say they are in talks with Ageas / Next and the other company about this matter. Said it was all about who was responsible for the mess. I did explain that Lord Wolfson had committed to paper that the PPI had just been added to the account, so there was no selling if PPI it was just added without any consideration to a person's circumstances or consent. FOS said they are dealing with it Cups
  5. [ Hi Mine still with FOS but with Ageas, nothing heard for a while, will update you when l hear from them, Cups QUOTE=Baz1994;4524735]Cheers Cups and keep me posted. Mine is in the hands of FOS now as getting nowhere fast with Underwriters / First Assist. Will keep up-dated with any developements.
  6. Baz I have just gone back to the FOS because l had a fob off from Ageas as well. I did SAR Next about 3 years ago and they could not even provide any PPI documentation, l asked when l had requested it and they tried to say l had asked for it in a store. All they keep saying is that no one was responsible for selling it, but it wasn't ever sold, it was just added to the account. I paid off my account some time ago. It seems amazing they can get away with it, l am thinking of issuing a letter before action. Cups
  7. HiI have had an update from the FOS, apparently the underwriters for the policy were Groupama, who are now Ageas Insurance, who are covered by the FOS.My PPI was taken out in march 1998, so that may be your best bet, that is if you have not heard from anyone else about this. The FOS say that Ageas were part of the FOS.Cups
  8. Hi I actually got a letter from Crapbot the other day saying they had closed the file. I sent them 3 months ago my letter from Equidebt and told them they had bought a closed account, end of story. They will take their time to reply l am sure, but once you have told them l would leave them to it. Cups
  9. Hi Sent my letter today, along with the Equidebt letter and email saying they cannot comply, case closed, will not be sold on. Crapbot can go and whistle!!!
  10. Hi After a 5 year battle Equidebt sent me a letter in March about a Co op debt, they could not enforce, case closed and l would not hear from then again. Just got the Crapbot letter today, will send them a missive about the account being closed. Not doing it all over again. Cups
  11. Hi, Have had an offer of full restitution from the insurer, quite clearly Santander are going to take a large hit on this one. Just awaiting a cheque. Another one down, some of the other ones Santander took over may also pay up l think. Good luck to the rest of you Cups
  12. Just for info Halifax recently told me that they reviewed my PPI claim and that they had notes of my mtg with an adviser?? I have never had such a mtg and l can prove that on the day in question in 1997, l was at work and could not possibly have gone to a branch. They cannot now produce the notes. Sent me a letter dated 5th Nov, rejecting claim. And have called twice since then to discuss my claim? When l rang them, they told me that the calls were probably made by a hoaxer????? Written to CEO, bunch of losers at Halifax!!
  13. Hi Just to let you know that l had a response to a section 78 request from Next last year, and in the 'true' copy of my agreement there is NOTHING about PPI at all, the current agreement also has nothing on its out PPI either!! They have had over £400 off me, l have put a claim in for a refund, will wait and see what rubbish they come up with. Cups
  14. Hi Sent it off to the FOS a few weeks ago now, nothing heard yet. Cups
  15. Sorry for the delay. Yes l am in a repayment plan, l will just carry it on. I may do the letter as well. Thanks
  16. No reply to full and final offer, they have again signed for it so l will use money to pay of other people.
  17. I sent it to Blair Oliver and Scott reg address, l have a copy of proof of signing for first letter, resent it with the proof of signing also in it. Been over a month, giving them another 14 days, should be long enough l think?? Cups
  18. Hi Sent them a full and final offer which they received, so l have resent it with 3 weeks to reply to my offer, also sent them proof of posting receipt!! If they don't want the money l will use it elsewhere !! Cups
  19. Yes, fraud by false representation would be a lovely criminal offence to use against them, not the first time they have done it either !!
  20. Just a quick update, Santander have come back after over a month and said that my point does not interest them, they still refuse my claim. FOS here we come l think Cups
  21. Hi Figures look ok, got cheque today!! I am going to be cheeky and use it to make a full and final offer at 50%? They have had 50% of the original amount back already. Will write to them in the next few weeks. Thanks guys for congrats, not used to it!!!!
  22. Hi It does not often go my way, but l decided to go for PPI reclaim on a PPI reclaim on a Sainsburys C C that l had and that l am paying off on a repayment plan. Well l filled in the FOS form, copied in what correspondence l have and the balance is now 50% less!! So with this debt l have an end in sight. No arguments or crap like l have had from other institutions. Get your PPI claim in and do it yourself , no need for a claims management company. Although l don't actually have the money , it is a result !! Cups
  23. Hi My understanding is that if the police are called and criminal action is taken then there it ends, l would argue that any civil action is a second bite at the cherry and therefore unfair. I would also say that any information supplied by the police to a RLP type organisation would need to go through a proper request made in writing but from my own experience l do not think the police would provide it. I think the moral of the story is to fight back, insist the police are called!! Just my opinion Cups
