Hi,

Relativley new to this place, although i have already started my campaign against Lloyds TSB.

My next target is GE Capital. Until recently i thought nothing of it. That card that sat in my wallet. Untill the day when i applied for a mortgage.

It was declined. I didnt understand why so signed up to credit expert to get my report.

Immediatly i saw GE Capital and 6 non payments. How can this be when i have had no statements and i have paid it all off.

I give them a call and find out they have not updated my details for the Burton card i have from them.

I had previously phoned and changed my contact details to my new address. But still nothing came. Me being a young adult did not realise at the time that no statement doesnt always mean nothing to pay.

THereford no i have an account on my report (that hasnt defaulted but has the max missed monthly payments) and i cant get credit.

I have told them the situation 2 months ago now, and settled and closed the account. They told me they were unable to remove the missed payments from my report.

Is this true. Although i have no proof of changing my address as i did it by phone, they have no data that i phoned and changed....as it still had my old address when i found out it was almost defaulted....

Also it has come to light this week that they must have been adding missed payment charges onto this account. Am i able to claim this money back from them?

Am i able to get a deal where i get no money but instead have the non payments removed.

Any information would be gratefully received.

This is true.

The CRAs are duty bound to keep info that is accurate......if it is not then you can challenge it.

Get in touch with them and tell them you want the info corrected.

It is likely that they will tell you they cannot do so without contacting the creditor who supplied them with the information.

But its their call to launch an investigation if you inform them that you want it doing.

I used the card yes and paid off what i thought i owed when i moved address. Since they did not change their system to my new address all my statements went to the old one and i was unaware i was missing payments.

This means i missed monhtly payments for 6 months, that went on my credit report (and is now there for six years) and they must have charged me missed payment charges.

Am i able to claim this back and get them to remove the information from the credit report.

yes, you can claim the fees back and if you have closed the account you can tell them they no longer have the right to share your data with the CRAs as your contract with them has ended and the right to share has also ended. Read this thread for info. read this thread about the process.

If I have helped click my scales....

i have actually phoned them (last night) and got them to remove all missed payment marks off my report. THey are sending a letter to confirm and will show on my report in the next 48hours.

Not bad for a former sales negotiator.
