Bank charge successes:

Halifax - Full settlement incl interest.

HSBC - Settlement, goodwill no admission of liability about 75% of claim.

RBS - Settlement, goodwill no admission of liability about 70% of claim.

2 ongoing claims for bank charges with HSBC with more to come. (Supreme Court ruling could have upset these claims) They did

PPI Successes

PPI 4 settlements on 9 loans. FOS involvement on 7 added on the 8 % Statutory interest another 30% to both.

2 claims settled in full with LV without FOS involvement.

2 claims settled in full with HSBC without FOS involvement

PPI Claims ongoing with:

Cap one Now with the FOS

Barclays. Paid up today 24/04/10 cheque received for over £4,500 and in the bank.

LTSB still have to decide on this as their SAR production was abysmal. Papers data mixed up documents missing etc

1 Complaint not upheld by FOS they said it was ICO issue. Complaint upheld by ICO. See this..

Please do not PM me for advice as it may be sometime before I can respond.

Keep at them. Do not give way and do not accept all they tell you, they will delay and stall for as long as they can to prevent repaying you your mis-sold PPI.

Thanks AA,

It is something you put on the new links for ppi

One bank, RBS/NatWest, has responded to the FOS's approach to the FSA by changing its attitude to dealing with customer complaints about PPI. According to an internal bank memo, dated 22 August, the bank decided "at Group Senior Executive level to reduce the volume of complaints going to FOS" to demonstrate to the FSA and FOS that their concerns have been taken on board.

Hope that rings a bell:-D

Hello All,

Fos have sent letter of confirmation of offer from RBS enclosing their revised offer. See the FOS does work but takes time:eek:.

FOS have given a timeline to expect a response on settlement and if not get back to them to hasten. ( I will keep you posted on this timeline)

Information Commissioners Office are also on the move and I expect a response to my complaint by 7 November 08 from my original complaint on 31 March 08. This was the result of a phone call today to the Information Commissioners Office. I got their acknowledgement in May.

Hello all,

further to post 269.

Hello all,

I have just had a call from the FOS with reference to my claim for 4 mis-sold PPI policies with Direct Line Financial Services going back to 1997. Being dealt with by RBS who legally took them over (it is in one of my earlier posts.

I turned down their goodwill offer of £2,600 as they would not offer the 8%. and went to the FOS.

RBS (DLFS) have rolled over and capitulated offering a goodwill gesture in excess of £3,800  without admission of liability. The FOS have stated that this is what they would have been able to ask for. Letter on it's way. I will keep you posted.

aa 1 - RBS 0

aa

The Result now reads:

aa 2 - RBS 0 :D

http://i435.photobucket.com/albums/qq80/alangles/settlementfospage1.jpg

http://i435.photobucket.com/albums/qq80/alangles/settlementfospage2.jpg

No final figures but have talked to fFOS today who have stated it includes all single premiums incl the interest added (plus 8% Statutory net of tax)

Could be a few quid more than the first result. Still waiting for first settlement but according to the FOS such is the flood on the banks they are having trouble coping with staff they have on the retail regulatory issues:eek:

Well done again! I'm guessing you won't be on their Xmas card list this year?

Thank you for the well done:)

No you are probably very much accurate with that statement and when I get my money back I will not be on their customer list either after 34 years just to make my final point. My monthly call to offer help from my friendly customer advisor has been missing for 11 months now. surprise surprise:eek:

Hell BRW,

Having spoken to the FOS adjudicators (plural) as I am currently dealing with three of them LOL. Oh and the ICO:D

They tell me that the banks, due to staff shortages (and RBS are about to be short of another 3,000 by all accounts) the staff that deal with the PPI recoveries issue are behind with their work. So it could be into next year before I see MY money. That is not a problem as I will exceed my agreed overdraft for Christmas and then when the Bill arrives fill in of one of those FOS complaint forms to add another adjudicator to my list of friends. I may not have the complaint upheld but it could cost RBS another £450 fee for the adjudicators time.;)

I do believe I am getting the hang of learning the banking way of dealing with finances.

Hello all,

Latest update on my complaints to the FOS.

RBS do not want to give me my money back quick time.

latest email from FOS yesterday......

Your settlement form was sent to RBS on 25 November 2008.

Normally we expect it to take a month to be completed. However RBS have advised it is taking them 9 to 12 weeks to complete payments.

In addition with the holiday season approaching delays are I am afraid inevitable.

In the circumstances your payment is likely to be made some time in the New Year.

There is little we can do under our rules to ask for payments to be made more quickly

Sorry to advise this is the situation.

Hello aa!

The bankers never had any problem handing out money fast when it suited them. Say, when getting people into Debt in the first place and selling mega profit PPI at the same time to help them enjoy even deeper levels of Debt!

So, why they need to take 12+ Weeks to re-pay something they mis-sold in the first place is just another good slap in the face for the Consumer. FOS won't push, because we all know who FOS likes best.

Maybe it's time to put some pressure on?

For example, tell them if they Pay what FOS suggests within the next 14 days, then you'll leave it at that. Have a nice Christmas.

However, if no Pay within 14 Days, then you will be going to Court to claim Contractual Interest in addition to the 8% FOS are suggesting.

Make it clear it's up to them, but getting a move on would be tidy when considering the bank's position.

I have absolutely no idea what that means, but bankers often mention that the bank needs a tidy position. Seems only polite to use the same meaningless banking expressions when writing to a banker.

Cheers,

BRW

I will make an approach tomorrow but by phone directly to the Retail Regulatory Risk person and explain that they are Taking the P*** after all this time. My complaint submitted in Jan 2008 is still not resolved and insist that they take immediate action to resolve my complaint Before I escalate matters to a higher level within FOS, Information Commissioners Office, OFT, BBA and of course the FSA and County Court if that is necessary. Another complaint means another £450.00 fe for the FOS to look at it.
