Just to let everyone know...

Im in the middle of a claim with Lloyd's for my fiancee as he has had loads of charges over the years. I have had few charges with abbey-only a couple of hundred which I wasn't really bothered about. In January though, I had over a hundred just in that month so I went down to my local branch to let them know that I wanted them back. I ended up with a phone number to ring which I did and after a lot of persuasion I managed to get the charges for January refunded as I hadn't asked for any back before.

It was classed as a complaint and the other day I got a letter saying they were sorry my complaint had taken so long to deal with and included a leaflet for the financial ombudsman. I didnt think anything of it as I didnt know I even had a complaint in- I'd recieved my money back and that was that as far as I was concerned.

Then this morning I checked my bank and found that I'd been refunded £255!

I don't know why this has happened but I'm not complaining.

Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Very nice of the Abbey to do that and I do not remember reading about this sort of thing happening to anyone else.

Do you think it could be classed as a win? Im not sure if it's everything I've been charged as I have another £80 due out next week but I think they might have been cancelled!

If it is a win it was a very easy one seen as in I only made one phone call and totally forgot abot it until I recieved the letter. :)

As I have said in my previous thread. I believe that ShABBEY SEEMS WILLING ENOUGH TO REFUND BANK CHARGES TO THEIR CUSTOMERS (IF THEY COMPLAIN PREFERABLE BY TELEPHONE) if the total about is not a huge sum. Good luck to you all

This sounds as if they want you to think its a good result, when really you could be claiming a lot more back.

For the sake of £10, I would send the SAR and see what it comes up with, you may get a suprise.
