  • dx100uk changed the title to husband has been dismissed from work due to ill health / mental health - struggling to pay lots of debts

are all these un defaulted to date?

are upto date on payments  until recent

and still with the original creditors?

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

well i see you learned the ropes back in 2018, bit its a shame hes run up loads of debt again.

my 1st course of action would be to invoke the gov'ts breathing space scheme.

We'll get that running and then we'll look at a long term solution as that only gives about 60 days... breathing space.

Did you take any advice regarding his dismissal?  i.e. are you comfortable the employer followed the correct procedure and paid the applicable severance pay ?

He’d been off for 6 months on ssp got 4 weeks pay and 8 days holiday .

Didn’t appeal decision as no longer able to fulfil work commitments .

Only thing that wasn’t done correctly was no warning of dismissal but a meeting had failed to be attended due to having to drive to it and mentally wasn’t able .

Alternative work offered within the company but not suitable .

So I think it was all fair but not suitable or possible .
