Hi all I need some advice, I want to pay off all my debts.

Background :-

I have around 5 debts

One is statute barred so I wont worry about that one :-)

Two others I am paying off weekly or monthly but will take about 8 years with what I am paying

Two the judge ruled I had to pay but I have not paid anything for 2 years and not been chased for payment either.

One of them includes a charging order on my house. Can I get this removed if they settle for an offer?

My circumstances will be different in around 6 weeks time when a large sum of money will be available to me.

So the question is this :-

Do I get a balance owed for all my creditors then send them a full and final offer? I have had previous letters for 50% discount.

What do I offer to pay them? Can I get a CCJ cancelled if I pay them areduced amount.

Basically I want to get it all paid off so I can start fresh so any help would be appreciated.

I dont know if this is right but I remember seeing something somewhere that if I sent the same offer to all my creditors and most of them agreed then the others would have to agree as well? Is that right?

stop

gather info first............

credit file go get that

anything that is not showing is not hurting you.

as for the charging order...do you solely own the home

or is it in joint names?

you mention a ccj's?

you say there are 2?

you say you've not paid anything against them..

if the fleecers that got the ccj's are not chasing you

then I'd not rush to pay them yet..

far more info required before you go wasting that £40k!!

if the debts are shown as defaulted or the CCJ's are still showing on your file

paying them off will not ever improve your credit score nor your credit worthiness.

Ok done some digging on Noddle

My credit report says :-

£3600 CCJ 3/1/2012 and I have not paid anything on this yet.

They applied to court late last year,

I sent in a breakdown and the judge refused them as I couldn't afford to pay.

No other debts are shown but I know there is one for HSBC and Virgin.

I have one for Tesco but that is now statute barred.

My wifes credit report says :-

August 2012 £5900 CCJ current balance (paid off about a 1k)

and a Charging order on the house

£3245 Arrow Global

The ccj with the charging order, are you paying that off?

If so, for now just keep paying it as you don't need the hassle of them chasing you. If you are not paying , well you take your chances ,

Other debts, if you are not paying and they are not chasing leave it that way. If they are unsecured and they start getting heavy ish then send a card request.

Any opinion I give is from personal experience .

I agree CCJS need to be paid if they have a charging order etc as per the original arrangement that the judge made.

Keep the £40k safe and just continue paying it.

My suggestion... If you have a savings account etc. Put it in there. My understanding that a savings account isnt reported to the CRA agencies so the DCAs wont have a clue you have that money saved away.

Just make sure no DCAs go for CCJs now going forward. IE having an up to date address etc.
