Hi

I have just checked my Experian report on Creditexpert and I have a default placed recently on my account from Lowell Group.

I have never had any dealing or correspondence that I am aware of from this company. Would really appreciate any information or help on how I can challenge this.

Thanks

Mark

Who was the OC? Chances are teh default was placed by the OC, sold, then updated by lowell.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

If my advice helps you, click the star icon at the bottom of my post and feel free to say thanks

Hi Guys

It was for £107.

It has only just appeared there - there was nothing else on my credit file that was behind in payments.

I gave them a quick call and it relates to a debt from BT apparently from a number of years ago

. The default is in Lowells name

, I've never had any default from BT nor have BT ever appeared on my credit report.

Thanks

Mark

Lowell are a debt purchaser,

so it looks like they have bought a raft of delinquent BT accounts to pursue

Do you still have any paperwork from BT?

Any idea of the date of the last payment to them?

You may need to SAR them to find out but a phone call may give you some information.

What is the date of default?

Best not phone Lowell again

- they will do anything to convince you that you owe the money,

when in fact you may not

- or at least nowhere near what is alleged as charges

and interest may have been added to a minuscule original amount

I would do nothing for now beyond gathering information

Any advice given is done so on the assumption that recipients will also take professional advice where appropriate.

If it was never there under BT

Then write to Lowell's

And complain

They can't default a debt nor make it magically appear on your credit file

If the OC have never registered it before

Give them 14 days to remove it

Else you'll raise a complaint with the ICO

Include an old copy of your cra file

To prove it was never there before

Just 1 thought

Is this the same cra provider as before?

Certainly DoNot pay it

That will not remove the default nor improve your score

DX

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
