Im at this stage too. Recieved full settlement today but since the claim have had three charges applied.

What I will do is

1) ring the bank, tell them you were in litigation, have recieved settlement but further charges were applied when account was in dispute (they should not have been), ask for them to be refunded.

2) failing that, write to cobbetts when you accept their final settlement. say that you would like to give their client the opportunity to refund these charges, but failure to do so would mean you making another claim.

3) Make a claim. prelim > LBA > etc

Not 100% sure of your circumstances  but the general way-of-the-land (in non legal terms) is that if you are going to deal with the above, it often pays to put your complaint down in writing. 9 oiut of 10 times, due to the fact that it is in writing, they have a duty to respond. If you are intending to make a claim, and providing you are not already aware, there are certain steps you will need to take. The FAQ's are an extremely good place to begin.

Good luck.

It is your call. What does the interest amount to? I would say if they have conceded the charges they have no grounds to not pay the interest. Depends on your personal circumstances, how much do you need that 6K?

My advice has hardly any legal foundation whatsoever, however you never know it it might just work!

It is all relative. Degrees of skintness! Hmmm. I would be inclined to accept... put the whole horrible episode behind you, on the other hand you may enjoy the cut and thrust of giving Natwest a roasting....

If Nat west had offered settlement after 1st or 2nd letter as we all hope they will it would have been without interest - wouldn't it? Its your call but I know what I would do, I'd be happy with the offer and happy that I could bring the matter to a close sooner rather than later, but if you are enjoying the ride then don't get off until the very end1 Whatever you do enjoy enjoy every penny and well done!

I had 2 accounts and 2 claims with NatWest, large claim was at online stage, smaller claim was just about to be added to online claim too. I called NatWest, gave them chance to pay up and they did, including interest.

Thanks everyone for your help, will donate when it hits my account tommorow.

Total claim was £6,500.
