Not at all (keep away from were ever you read that)...it means the debt has been assigned (bought) from VF...Lowell are now the legal owner of the debt.

How you respond or deal with them is your choice.

The only time this would happen is in Scottland. After 5 years of non payment and non admittance of the debt. (Scotland SB Rules)

Beyond that, no...

it was a contract that she had no joy with regarding no signal and being cut off when you rarely got one. all made known to vodaphone where they said they tried everything and it wasn't them, also had phone replaced by apple. simply put the signal was crap and number not been used at all.

regards bob.

gripper, you might be able to challenge the debt if you had made a complaint to Vodafone originally. Have they started to record a default on your credit file ?

Then you have valid defence if required....as the service was not fit for purpose.

While the advice given so far is spot on, you could try the rep we have here.

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?213340-Vodafone-Webteam-for-Customers-With-Problems-**UPDATED-APRIL-2015-**&p=2343766&viewfull=1#post2343766

Some users have had some success doing it this way (with nothing guaranteed)

The VF rep(s) that frequent this forum do seem to care more that the customer service staff.

It may also be worth sending VF a SAR as I bet they have included unlawful charges to this account

hi all,

we took that route with the vf rep but settlement figure was not acceptable. what lowell are asking for now is a figure of £198 for a contract that was used for about 6 wks with nothing but trouble and being fobbed off by VF. even had phone changed at apple because they said it was the phone and it wasn't. i think daughter is going to offer then £10 a mth. will see what happens.
