Hillard, did you send Lowell a SB letter ?

Should I ? Having had communication with them in the past on other matters I've tended to treat them with the same contempt, I mean respect, that they showed me.

Once you have informed them that the account is statute barred then they should cease contact and remove your details from their data base.

Wait until they make contact again, then send them the following.. Make sure you head the letter

"I acknowledge no liability to you or any company you represent"

What reason did you put forward on the FOS questionnaire for mis-selling?? About to do one for son-in-law who took out CC over the internet.

The actual wording I used was:

"I cannot remember how I came to take the card.

I did not understand the conditions of taking the card fully at the time.

It appeared that PPI was an integral part of the account as I am unaware of any separate agreement to take card protection.

At the time I was self employed and trying to build up a small business which eventually failed.

By 2005-6 I had found other employment but the funding for this project did not allow for a salary to be paid

I was there mainly on a voluntary basis.

I did not receive benefits as I had insufficient NI contributions.

I am now much better informed, thanks to information from the Consumer Action Group,

and consider that PPI was mis-sold on this account as I was not asked vital questions about existing insurance cover,

not informed that I could have bought a policy elsewhere,

or made aware that the policy was unsuitable for me. "

Not sure if that would apply to everyone, but they accepted the claim and paid. :-)

Hi I wonder if you can help. I also had a Cap One Credit Card and I know for sure it had PPI. When I took it out I was self employed so it certainly was not suitable. I am new to this and I really need to know how to get the info I need and what I do to recalim, any help you guys can offer would be greatly appreciated. is there a number I can ring to check if i'm eligible (I did this with Nat west) or do I need to send of forms to request statements etc? I dont have any original paperwork for this one at all.

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
