hey guys new to the forum - smile.png

Would you be able to help with my rlc problem please?

I only have a short question.

It's what I said in a post but was told to start my own one so here it was:

i forgot to pay for something an after got taken to a back room,

then was told this fine might be given to me.

i paid for the item in question when I left so the store got its money,

but the police weren't involved or anything other than to verify my address/name or that they werent actually after me etc.

i got a letter ages ago from RLC Civil Recovery sayin i needed to pay 147.50

- surely I don't need to do anything about this at all now?

any help would be greatly appreciated

Kind Regards

Rom

you mean RLP

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Hi Rom

Welcome to CAG

What you have received is a speculative invoice, without a breakdown of any costs, it's not a fine. There is no loss as the item was paid for. RLP will continue to send letters. There was no police action. You could send them a two line template. Only the retailer can take action, but there is no loss.

Welcome to CAG

Sorry to hear that you have been sent some toxic toilet roll.

Please use it to light the BBQ or fire or if your hard up, bunny bedding

Seriously, file away and ignore.

Only a court can make you pay something. RLP have no power to initiate court proceedings against you. They may try everything to scare you into thinking they have the right to demand money and even threaten dear old granny.

You paid for the item in question and were allowed to leave with it, yes ?

In which case, no crime committed.

Any "demand" for money from RLP is tantamount to fraud and should be met with a curt "sod off" response. Any further attempt to obtain monies by deception should be reported to Action Fraud.

No... you can't eat my brain just yet. I need it a little while longer.

You can either send the one line letter or ignore jackie and co. Either one works and both achieve the same outcome.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

If my advice helps you, click the star icon at the bottom of my post and feel free to say thanks
