I got caught shoplifting at John Lewis. They took my details. Police were not involved.

I paid for the item but I was banned from all John Lewis stores.

They told me they will share my details with my employer.

Can they do that?

If so, can I be dismissed from work it it happened outside my workplace?

they can not do anything of the sort under GDPR.

just a bunch of trumped up blow head overstepping their non importance.

forget about it, just stay out that store for a few months

if you get any letters from the likes of RLP/DWF etc harping on about a fake civil restoration issue

ignore them

put them in the bin.

nothing anyone can do to you

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

I'm really worried because I work in department store and if loss prevention manager from my work would find out  about it, could they fire me even if this happen in different place?

cant happen you are protected under your gdpr rights. your details can go nowhere outside of their org. 

its simply one of the security guards mouthing off to make him seem important.

if it did happen you could sue them and win far more money than you'll ever earn in wages for the rest of your life.
